The COIN CABINET that housed the W C Boyd collection for over 100 years, French Empire style freestanding Collector’s Cabinet, 1500mm wide x 1200mm high x 460mm deep, exterior black lacquered, decorative pilasters at sides, the doors decorated with burr box framed marquetry panels and ormolu beads, the interior fitted with 50 coin trays 410mm x 285mm in two banks and, below, 22 graduated plain specimen trays, ebony pulls. The interior serviceable, but lacking felts and two knobs, the case and exterior in need of some minor repairs and restoration.together with a mahogany tabletop cabinet to contain 24 trays, of which 21 are present, which are fully interchangeable with those in the main cabinet. Case in poor state and some trays not original. (2) the buyer of this lot must make their own arrangements for shipping.
