Lots 385 & 386 come from `The Junior Shop`, a small retail toy shop in Lee, Southeast London, that was owned and run by the vendor`s mother-in-law from 1954-1975. The contents of the Meccano cabinet were in constant demand from the many customers. The shop was a haven for youngsters of all ages and generations from the surrounding area, more so at Christmas Time and Bonfire night when the money that had been accumulated in the various saving clubs run at the shop were exchanged for a wide range of games, toys, fireworks, models and accessories. A Meccano electrically operated Shop Display model of a half section of a Veteran Car, constructed using yellow and unpainted Meccano with black wheels, fixed to wood backing painted red with Meccano logo hidden behind backing motor and chain drive to power the wheels and waving passengers, all fixed to a painted black wooden base, circa 1970s, base 250mm x 380mm, backing board 250mm high x 380mm wide, in original Meccano despatch boxed and packing with label Junior Shop, VG-E, box F-G
