Hansard reporters Union of South Africa. House of Assembly. Debates of the Sixth Session of the First Parliament, 1915 255 x 200 This volume covers the debates between 26 February and 21 April 1915, transforming us to the early days of World War 1, with an instructive index that includes 50 main entries for defence; 24 for rebel, rebels and rebellion; 24 for German (and German SWA); 6 for censor and censorship; and a handful for volunteers and war itself. The contents - viii pp of prelims: the list of Cabinet Members and MPs, `late corrections` and errata; and Columns 1-1570 of debates and index - are complete, unmarked and undiscolcoured. As with several other of our lots in this auction, this copy has been rebound to transform it from a disbound state to very good: new green Skivertex spine with the undamaged part of the original title label laid down and new gilt embossing for the damaged top, new plain endpapers and new glued backstrip with head and tail bands, and with the binding re-rounded. The original green cloth-boards are rubbed but still attractive - transforming this copy into an attractive, collectable volume. Very Good Cape Town Cape Times 1915
