An oak bedroom suite, comprising wardrobe, 168cm high, 103.5cm wide, 48cm deep, dressing table, 158cm high, 118.5cm wide, 48cm deep, chest of four long drawers, 96cm high, 79cm wide, 45.5cm deep, another, three drawer, 74cm high, 71cm wide, 45.5cm deep and a bedside cabinet, 66cm high, 39.5cm wide, 38.5cm deep; a headboard, 101cm high, 141.5cm wide and footboard
A Chinese brass cabinet lock with key. Length excluding key 75 mm. CONDITION REPORT: The lock appear to be in generally good order with no significant areas of damage. There are no breaks, no repairs and no restoration. The locking mechanism appears to operate as it should but is a little stiff.
An 18th century Georgian demi lune side cabinet. Height 79 cm, width 72 cm, depth 37 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is structurally sound with no loose joints. The left hand gallery return is loose. There is a small loss to the rear left hand corner of the gallery and a similar small loss to the front right hand point of the gallery. The top is flat with no splits but does have water damage and minor burn and ring marks. The dummy drawer front is in good condition. The cupboard beneath has a stress fracture running through the centre. The bottom drawer operates as it should. There are minor pieces of boxwood and ebony stringing missing to the piece. The left and right hand side panels have full height stress fractures which should be visible in our image. The legs are not repaired and, as stated, are structurally sound. There is some boxwood stringing missing. The rear boards are original.
A Victorian mahogany chest of document drawers, with wooden knob handles, graduated and raised on bracket feet. Height 141 cm, width 87 cm, depth 46.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chest of drawers is in good original condition. The top is not split but has surface marks and scratches as one would expect and also some old paint flecks. The cornice is in good condition all round. All drawer fronts are in reasonably good order with no significant losses and only minor nibbles to edges. There is some liquid staining and the polish is beginning to deteriorate in places. The wooden knob handles seem to be original. The sides of the cabinet have numerous old marks and scratches but no splits or any real problems. The bracket feet are original and in good order. The backboards are original.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany display cabinet, with rear upstand and with bowed glazed door opening to shelves and flanked on either side by shaped open shelves and with drawers beneath and raised on tapered legs of square section terminating in spade feet. Height 186 cm, width 150 cm, depth 53 cm. Prevenance - Tallentire Hall (see illustration).
A Regency mahogany side cabinet, with variegated marble top and metal fittings with brass grille to door and raised on short bun feet. Height 86 cm, width 68 cm, depth 32 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chest is in generally very order. It is structurally sound. The top has old scratches and marks and minor stress fractures to the timber but serious condition issues. The moulded edge is in good order all round with only minor shrinkage at the joints. The right hand side has stress fractures to the mahogany but these are old and not problematic. The left hand side has no fractures and is slightly darker in colour not having been exposed to the sun. The drawers are all in good condition. The handles are original. There is slight fading on the right hand side. The plinth is in good condition all round. The backboards are original and unpainted. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. The lock and key are present but the locking mechanism is not currently operating.
A mahogany collectors cabinet, nine drawers flanked by pillars and with triangular pediment. Height 42 cm, width 43 cm, depth 21 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Although traditionally made this cabinet is not Victorian as stated in the catalogue description. It seems to be made from old timber but is clearly later. It is in generally good condition with no structural issues. There are some minor scratches to the cornice and small losses to the front edge but other than this the condition is good all round.
A collection of vintage 20th century Royal Doulton collectors cabinet plates designed by Christina Thwaites to include The Wind in the Willows series and The Owl and the Pussy-cat collection. Also accompanied by an assortment of Elaine Gignilliat 'Children of the Week' cabinet plates. Also together with a Royal Doulton The Owl and the Pussy-Cat money bank in the form of an open book. Good condition. Measures 22cm diameter.
A vintage 20th century Coalport hand painted signed miniature cabinet teacup. The teacup being signed for J M. Saucer hand painted by Keith Hancock. Under plate signed by a MP. All with coal port makers mark to base. Together with a hand painted lidded pot signed P. Graves and painted with a pheasant atop a gate.
