A finely etched sentoku (brass alloy) cabinet modelled as a miniature nijunoto (two-storey pagoda)By Fujii Yoshitoyo (Biho, born 1868) of Kyoto, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th centuryWorked predominantly in his renowned etching technique with strands of gold and silver overlaid on the sentoku with extensive chased details, constructed on two storeys raised on an integral stepped base, each storey beneath a sloping roof, the upper roof fitted with one removable drawer, the lower roof with two drawers, all with chrysanthemum bud handles, the upper roof decorated with ho-o birds, dragons, a temple complex and a bird among peonies surmounted by a tall stupa with a tama-shaped knop from which chains lead down to the roof's corners, the lower roof similarly decorated, the sides around the base with repeated foliate and geometric patterns, stamped on the base with the Mount Fuji mark of Fujii Yoshitoyo; on its original, detachable, stepped wood stand. The pagoda: 18.5cm (7¼in) high. The kodansu: 9.5cm x 11.7cm x 7.7cm (3¾in x 4 5/8in x 3in); the stand: 2cm x 14cm (¾in x 5½in). A gold-lacquered shodana (display cabinet)Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th centurySupported on a removable, rectangular cabriole-legged base, comprising two pairs of hinged cupboard doors, one at the top and one at the bottom, one set of sliding doors, staggered shelves and two drawers, decorated in gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, kirikane, and Gyobu nashiji with rural scenes depicting a waterfall or a stream winding through thatched dwellings on an embankment, the open surfaces in the form of fans decorated with overlapping assorted crests interwoven among autumn foliage and flowers, the narrow sides flanking the doors embellished with stylised butterflies, the remaining sides with plum and chrysanthemum blossoms echoing the front of the stand, the reverse scattered with similar assorted crests on a nashiji ground; unsigned. Two Coalport cabinet plates, one decorated with a landscape to blue and gilt ground, the other with flowers to a pink ground, diameter 9ins, together with another plate, diameter 9ins -The pink plate is heavily crazed and the deep crazing are going into cracks. The blue plate with landscape is cracked. The blue plate with flowers is scratched.

A French walnut and satinwood-banded marble-top bedside cabinet, with single drawer, W45cm, H82cm, D35cmFair condition. Marble in good condition, though could do with a good clean. Joints are loose, so has a noticeable wobble. All over signs of wear, surface scratches and marks. Staining to interior and shelf, with some water damage. Minor veneer chipping in places.
