AN EXACT 1 12TH SCALE MODEL OF A 19th CENTURY PUNT AND PUNT GUN, made from marine plywood and walnut, gun of steel with brass opening breech and ebony stock, complete with breech rope and rod, measuring 17in. from bow to stern, mounted on a brass plinth with brass stands. Other Notes: This model is one of only three made by retired gunsmith and cabinet maker Steve Pollard. Before his retirement Steve specialised in making 4, 8 and other big bore guns. He now makes a small amount of bespoke miniature guns, mostly for the American market.
A fine Victorian burr walnut Davenport desk, with rise and fall stationery cabinet with brass gallery above the piano front and sliding desk, fitted with two interior drawers, the right hand drawer with button to operate the stationery cabinet, with four drawers to the right and four opposing dummy drawers, with foliate carved cabriole front legs, plinth base and turned feet with castors. Width 22 ins.
An oak secretaire cabinet, 19th century, probably continental, with spindled gallery to the detachable pediment, in turn above a moulded cornice with frieze drawer and fall front secretaire beneath enclosing shelves and with five further drawers beneath with brass drop handles, the whole front carved, with moulding below, raised on bun feet. Width 31 ins.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany side cabinet, the rectangular top being boxwood strung with crossbanded edge above two drawers with brass drop handles and ebonised and boxwood geometric stringing and with cockbeading, with moulding below and raised on four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. Width 24 ins.
A good Victorian oak hall wardrobe hat and coat stand, with triangular pediment above a moulded cornice with carved frieze with applied fretwork below, in turn above a series of carved panels, mirrors, a drawer, umbrella apertures and a full length door enclosing hanging space and with plinth base beneath, width 72 ins, together with a matching side cabinet, the top with moulded edge above two frieze drawers with heavy brass drop handles with cupboard doors beneath and open apertures, raised on turned legs, width 60 ins.
A late 17th/ early 18th century Iberian walnut cabinet, on later estate-built stand, with a elaborate engraved brass escutcheon and pierced hinges, enclosing a combination of floral cartouche inlaid drawers above a moulded edge, on chamfered square legs united by a single shelf (requiring restoration), 98cm wide, 118cm high, 42cm deep, Provenance: Moy House, Forres, Morayshire. Moy house was destroyed by fire in 1995. This cabinet is one of the few original furnishings to have been rescued. Colonel Grant of Moy had connections with the East India Company and married a lady of Portuguese descent. Grant brought back a vast fortune, mainly in diamonds, however, it would seem very likely that this cabinet would have been collected during his travels in Portugal.
