A Synchronome three volt electric clock, pre 1930, Serial No. 11446, in mahogany case. Height 127.5 cm, width 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is all present with no losses but is generally very dirty and tired looking. There are numerous old paint marks and water staining damage particularly down the left hand side. This is principally cosmetic as the cabinet work is in generally good order. The clock door operates as it should, the hinges and catches are all present. The door is not warped. We have the pendulum however this is detached from the metal spring which appears to be complete. As far as we can tell the movement is also complete and appears to be in reasonable condition all be it a little dusty. The silvered brass dial is in generally good order with only minor blemishes and dust. The number on the N R A plate appears to be 1656.
An Edwardian mahogany display cabinet, in the French style, with marble top with three quarter gallery, heavy glass panels and raised on cabriole legs terminating in sabot feet. Width 75 cm, height 165 cm, depth at deepest point 35.5 cm, depth otherwise 33 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Other than being extremely dirty this cabinet is in generally good condition. The brass gallery is present and complete. The marble top is not cracked. The glazed door and side panels are in good condition. The rear mirror plate is showing signs of perishing. The door is not warped and all of the front timberwork is in generally good condition with only minor surface scratches and scuffs as one would expect from a piece of this age. The wooden side panels are in generally good order. The right and left and rear panels each have a small 4 mm x 30 mm section of veneer missing right at the back edge. This is barely significant and if stained would not be visible. The rear legs are a little weak and there is a bracing bracket at the back of each leg which is probably a later item rather than original feature. Again these are at the rear of the cabinet right by the wall and are not visible. The piece has a fully panelled back.
