Magnificent carved bureau table in the Baroque neo-Gothic style. The terraced structure of work surfaces, with two-tiered storage units and a double-door cabinet, is topped with a Baroque cartouche with a mirror and figures of mischievous putti with grapes. They rest on a carved platform with curved legs, whose lines are entwined with winged gargoyles and snakes. The table drawer panel is completely hidden by a carved garland of flowers and a wave of a sliding board. An acanthus ribbon borders the tabletop. The long necks of snake birds act as strict guardians of the table. Curled into rings, they impart a special mood and historical allusions to the object. Ribbons of acanthus surround the tiers, where contrasting decor of intertwined vines and flowers, panels of rose vignettes, complement the decoration. France, second half of the 19th century. It is a turn-key single-leaf mahogany display cabinet on cabriole legs, with gilded bronze decor. The elongated rectangle of the body with beveled corners is decorated with playful garlands of a frieze with young satyrs carrying their playmate, musical grotesques and ligature of laurel wreaths on the planes of the bevels, a central panel with lush floral garlands, a bow and bagpipes, and the lovely faces of mascarons in the knots of the composition. Particularly noteworthy are the delicate graphics and workmanship of the floral belts and the pearl filigree panels, emphasizing the elegance of the silhouettes of the panels and the harmonious ensemble of the product.Beveled glass on three sides, interior with two glass shelves, pink veined marble top. A grandiose buffet showcase from the Art Nouveau era, early 20th century. The world-creating principle, the synthesis of the universe and the family, the family hearth - in this grandiose projection of the world tree. Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap of Wetwang, a mid 20th twin door tallboy with two short over two long drawers with turned wooden handles and ironwork latch and hinges, raised on square supports, with carved rabbit signature, 127 high x 83 wide x 44cm deep Provenance; Sold behalf of the Amy Brundrett Trust.Condition Report; Structurally the cabinet is in good order, there are some water marks and could do with a good waxing and clean but otherwise good condition.

It all looks to be complete and in excellent cosmetic condition, however it does not function correctly, the arm is not engaging with the mechanism?
