Educational Game Cabinet, circa 1880s, a large boxed assortment of printed and pictorial cards and games, comprising: National Gallery, 48 cards; Counties of England, 76 cards (plus Key and Rules cards), and another set of 61 cards (plus Key card); Kings and Queens of England, 27 cards; 212 history cards; Kingdoms of Europe, 64 cards; 9 large numbered colour-lithographed cards for Zoological Loto[sic] each depicting 10 animals or birds, with accompanying Key card, and another 12 cards similar, for Picture Loto[sic] each with 15 illustrations of various objects; 8 large cards each printed with a grid for the game of Who Knows, published by J. Two Japanese red and black lacquer table top cabinets, Meiji period, early 20th century, each decorated with foliage and domestic birds, one of rectangular form with an arrangement of five short drawers above one long drawer with a hinged door opening to reveal two further short drawers, 24.5cm x 23.5cm x 11.5cm, the other with an arrangement of a box with cover to the top opening to reveal a six compartment interior, above two long drawers and two hinged doors opening to reveal four further short drawers, 27.5cm x 23.5cm x 11cm (2)Some drawers lacking handles. The two doors of the second cabinet described are loose and need re-fitting.
An Edwardian mahogany secretaire desk cabinet by Sopwith & Co, the moulded cornice above pair of folding cupboard doors enclosing arrangement of pigeon holes, shelves, and drawers and fall front with leather lined writing surface, the base section with two banks of four drawers, on turned feet, with metal plaque to the back of the top section, 144cm high, 122cm wide, 73cm deep. Note: Thomas Sopwith, son of a cabinet maker, invented an ingenious type of desk with all its drawers secured by a single lock, name the Monocleid, which won a prize in the 1851 Great Exhibition. Thomas Sopwith is listed as Dog-Bank, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, see Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, pg. 839 Please refer to department for condition report

Another Vienna cabinet plate with beehive mark having drilled holes to underside with chips around holes and also having chips to underside rim, scratches to top and rubbing to gilt.The pair of Derby creamware plates with heavy crazing and scratches to underside. The Royal Worcester 'robin' plate with heavy crazing. Vienna style plate with maiden and cherubs with heavy rubbing to gilt and minor nibbles to rim. Otherwise in good condition with only minor wear to underside rims, minor scratches and rubbing to gilt highlights.
