A LATE 19TH CENTURY AND LATER BLACK FOREST CARVED AND STAINED WALNUT TANTALUS, carved surmount of a finch perched on fruit above the shaped rectangular glazed case with four engraved panels, the double hinged front and lid opening to reveal a lift out tray fitted with a set of four decanters with stoppers and an assortment of sixteen liqueur glasses, the case supported on four bun feet, width 42cm x height 41cm x depth 29cm, with key (Condition report: the cabinet is fully functional and usable, glass panels are free from cracks, the superstructure looks to have undergone a restoration and new sections are evident to the interior, the case locks, the decanters are in good condition but have numbers etched into the bases of the stoppers and necks of the decanters to match, as glasses are not a matching set they have not been assessed for condition)

A BRASS MOUNTED BLACK JAPANNED CABINET ON STAND English, probably 18th Century, on later stand With engraved brass mounts, the lock plate featuring a view of a castle in a landscape, the doors decorated with oriental figures in a chinoiserie landscape, the interior with an arrangement of eleven drawers, with drop ring handles and further chinoiserie decoration 166cm high x 94cm wide x 49cm deep Condition: A vertical split to both cabinet doors, the doors bowed slightly and a slight gap between the doors where they meet. Key present and lock functioning. One drawer lacking section of base, one with split to drawer base. So chipping and general wear to laquer on interior. The top with scuffing and wear. A JAPANESE PARQUETRY AND LACQUER CABINET 19th century The pair of cupboard doors inset with a shaped rectangular lacquer panel decorated with an ornamental pheasant amongst blossoming prunus, a single drawer below, the interior fitted with an arrangement of six drawers On later ebonised wood stand 67cm x 75cm x 39cm; 145cm x 82cm x 43cm including stand Condition: The lower drawer front has bowed slightly and as such does not sit flush at the left hand side, no key for this lock. Cabinet doors with key to lock but the lock is a little problematic. Splits around the lacquer panels visible from the interior of the dors (see additinal images) and some of this visible to the exterior of the left hand door. The interior drawers a a little stiff to open and close, and there is some light wear to the lacquer. Sides and top with some historical scratching and wear and some general signs of age. The modern stand has a weak back leg that is in need of some attention and there is some damage to the fretwork. This is an auction of preowned and antique items. A bookcase/display cabinet made from oak from Nelson's flagship HMS Foudroyant with copper embellishments, by Goodall, Lamb & Heighway c1899, modelled as a ship's stern and quarter lights with copper strap hinges & frieze inscribed '1798 Foudroyant 1801', complete with original scrolled taffrail cornice having medallion portrait of Nelson, Overall Height 49", Width 64", Overall Depth 20". Also included is the original Goodall, Lamb & Heighway sales catalogue 'The Ship of The Century, Nelson's Flagship, Foudroyant', showing the range of items manufactured from the salvaged timber, including this wall cabinet on plate 36.
