An Exceptionally Rare Wet-Plate Outfit By Negretti & Zambra, London, the camera and outfit is housed in the original black painted pine cabinet with hooks, handles, key and working lock, the camera is made of French polished mahogany with a single sliding drawer, with a 5 3/4in x 4 3/4in focusing screen at the rear, with ivory name plaque to the top engraved ‘NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA, 1 HATTON GARDEN, 59 CORNHILL, 122 REGENTS ST. & 153 FLEET STREET LONDON’ Petzval lens to the front Engraved Negretti & Zambra, set contains various chemical bottles with hand blown pontil marks to bases and labels of contents, some or Negretti & Zambra, case contains other equipment, there are pine cases of slides still with the original negative images on.Provenance: the camera recently came to light during an attic clear out of Standen Hall, Clitheroe. The negative images are of the exterior of Standen Hall.
