A spectacular 19th c. ebonised lacquered Oriental Bureau Cabinet having shaped upstand to the rectangular top over a long frieze drawer over a fall opening to reveal two short drawers and shaped shelf over to one side, with below, a pair of doors open to reveal two short over two long drawers, the front flanked by three-quarter turned columns and standing on a separate base with scroll-end cabriole style legs. Beautifully decorated throughout with inlaid Abalone type shell-work the decoration including trailing fruiting Vines, flowers and foliage, rocky outcrops with shrubs and trees, Chrysanthemums/Peonies, Swallows in flight, Peacocks and Peahens and perched Chinese Pheasants. Angular Ormolu hooks are installed near to the tops of the quarter-turned pillars for the hanging of a protective drape; no longer present, but the vividness of the colours indicates that the piece has been well protected from the ravages of direct sunlight. Believed to have been purchased by auction many years ago at Bryngwyn Manor, Wormelow. Well worthy of the required restoration, many of the detached fragments being present, 40 1/2'' wide x 58 1/2'' high x 19 1/2'' deep.
A Jaycee reproduction Oak floor standing Corner Cabinet, the moulded cornice over carved frieze above the upper leaded glazed door opening to reveal two shelves, the lower section having moulded edge top over a lower three panel door with geometric pattern carved upper panel, with ornate 'H' hinges and brass escutcheons, on bracket feet, 27'' wide x 72 5/8'' high x 16'' deep.

Offices and men of no.2 Coy (Banff) 2st B.V.A. to Lieut C. Falconer on the occasion of his leaving BANFF, June 1896", 30.5cm wide
