Stand reasonable, consistent with age, with the exception of front right hand corner with split running through carved decoration and along the front edge, approx 15cm. Drawer difficult to move - swollen. Block of timber missing to end of drawer. Cabinet with colour loss and bleaching, particularly the top section. Several minor natural? splits, otherwise good. Green leather top replaced and fairly modern, so reasonable with only light scuffs. Top writing section loose and can be removed completely. Some fading and variations in colour. The cabinet is fitted with three drawers and enclosed by a parquetry panelled door under a needlework compartment, with silk embroidered interior to the rising cover which is decorated with a central pietra dura motif within chequer and target marquetry panels. It is moulded and carved throughout and has one base drawer, supported on bun feet, 16"w, 20.5"h.
An Edwardian Tortoiseshell Stationery Table Cabinet, of rectangular section, the tortoiseshell quarter round hinged lid with white metal inlay to the rim revealing a red silk lined fitted interior, the sides and back in crushed red Morocco, 31.5cm wide, 19.5cm high, comprising blotter pad, 32.3cm, stamp box, Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, London 1912, 7.8cm pair of dwarf table candlesticks, 1913, 10.5cm high, and arched rectangular photograph frame, 16.8cm high The interior linings have got slightly chipped and quite heavily worn through natural use. The lid appears good and the hinges strong. The front flange generally chipped and nibbled along the front, and particularly on the angles. The rear leather covered flange also scuffed quite heavily. Blotter pad - very good condition except the edges are frayed of the burgundy silk. Stamp box - good. Photograph frame - chip to glass panel. Scuffing of burgundy leather on easel back. Some slight drying blemishes on the inner frame edge. Candlesticks - one candlestick has a large 3.5cm chunk out of the basal rim. The other has a very small chip out of the basal rim. The burgundy leather basal cover is coming loose. 310513

An early 20th Century ebonised and glazed museum display cabinet with double rising top over panelled sides raised on square tapered supports by F Sage & Co. Limited London (bears ivorine labels) and also with ivorine label inscribed "This case was presented by Sir William W Portal Bart FSA, an early benefactor of the museum" (probably ex-The Basingstoke Willis Museum) CONDITION REPORTS Wear and scuffs, chips conducive with age and use. Cabinet has been repainted black and paint has got onto the glass panels at edges. Screw holes to top frame. Some small nail/ pin holes to top. Some blocks to underside added, and some blocks/braces missing to underside. It appears it would be possible to remove the top from the base.

A circa 1900 mahogany bijouterie cabinet of rectangular outline with blind fretwork carved decoration on square tapering legs united by an undertier CONDITION REPORTS General wear and dirt. Some scuffs and chips, including some chips to edges of legs, particularly near feet. The cabinet is locked and there is no key. One hinge is unattached. A few scratches to the glass top, however, overall the cabinet/table appears to be in reasonably good condition.
