The O'Rahilly, carte de cabinet photograph by W. McCrae. 6½" x 4¼" (16.5 x 11cm). A founding member of the Irish Volunteers, The O'Rahilly opposed the Easter Rising and travelled by car around the country countermanding the mobilisation order. However he took part in it and was killed on the retreat from the GPO. he is reputed to have said, "As I've helped wind the clock, I'd like to hear it ring."
