IN THE MANNER OF GILLOW, A SUPERB BURR WALNUT, ORMOLU AND MARBLE BREAKFRONT SIDE CABINET, the centre section with a well carved frieze over a pair of glazed doors, flanked by concave glazed sides, with a pedestal to each end having a small drawer with well carved mask and foliate fronts, above glazed cabinet door, all supported on a plinth base. 8ft 8ins long x 4ft 4ins high x 1ft 3ins deep.
Three Victorian Photograph Albums,in an ebonised wooden case with boxwood inlay, painted panels, brass handles, lock and key. Album 1: c.1880-1885, a large album, painted golden oak boards and leather spine, approximately 110 albumen prints of UK, 29cm x 24.5 cm and smaller, at least 26 by George Washington Wilson and 10 by James Valentine, in addition to the usual tourist views subjects include the Henley Regatta 1883 and 1888 and the 1882 floods in Bristol and Bath. Album 2: a good carte de visite/ cabinet card album, pigskin in imitation of crocodile, silver-plated clasp and plaque, album vacant but with a small collection of albumen prints including five of boating scenes c.1880. Album 3: leather quarter bound, dated 1877 on the flyleaf, approximately 130 albumen prints, including professional tourist scenes, UK and Europe, including several with Francis Frith blindstamp, a number of views of old Bristol, amateur boating photographs etc, foxing to pages and images at front and rear of album, album 28cm x 38cm
A Good Carte de Visite Album,c.1865-1875, bound in full leather with gilt-brass catch, chromolithographed pages with tissue guards, numerous cdvs and cabinet cards showing members of Forwood and Pim families of Liverpool, some with sitter identified verso or dated, album includes a good signed cabinet card of Sir Arthur Bower Forwood (1836-1898) when Lord Mayor of Liverpool.
