A 19th Century Continental carved oak domed display cabinet on stand:, of large size, the upper part decorated with flowerheads in roundels and foliage, the moulded and concave cornice with bead and paterae ornament centred by a lions mask, fitted with adjustable shelves enclosed by a pair of moulded glazed panel doors, flanked by sculptured caryatid heads to the angles with palmettes, pendant husks and scrollwork, the lower part of recessed breakfront outline, fitted with two frieze drawers with acanthus leaf decoration centred by a lions mask and flanked by figural masks, on sculptured classical standing figure supports with linenfold panel back and canted plinth base, 137cm (4ft 6in) wide, 261cm (8ft 7in) high. *Provenance Port Eliot, St Germans, Cornwall.
