An apothecary's cabinet,20th century, the upper section with two glazed doors opening to glass shelves, above the base with two panelled doors,123cm wide53cm deep199cm highThis cabinet, believed to originate from Eastern Europe, features a practical slide-out shelf with a resin finish and newly-installed interior lighting. Layers of old paint have been stripped back, with the original wood given a 'scumbled' effect grain, while the interiors have been freshly painted and missing shelves remade. A Chinese hardwood display cabinet,19th-20th century, with two glazed doors opening to reveal a selection of asymmetrically arranged staged selves, above scroll and bi disc decoration joined by humpbacked stretchers,90.5cm wide 27.5cm deep117cm high, and a later European-made stand raised on six square-tapering supports joined by stretchers, overall 177cm high Condition report: Small chips, knocks, surface scratches and splits in various locations. In the Manner of Jules Donzel of Paris: 19th century French cabinet fan with hand-painted panels of classical female figures and putti within floral wreaths on lace, above mother of pearl sticks, decorated with Canton-style figures and pagodas with scroll gilding, set with a turquoise gem mount to the base of one stick, approximately 51cm wide, enclosed in a giltwood fan-shaped case.CONDITION REPORT: There are minor losses to the gilt on paper part. There are age-related creases also and age-related standing to the paper part also. There are minor stains to the gilding on the sticks. There are a couple turquoise gems lacking. Generally the sticks are in good condition.
Attributed to Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple: fine Art Nouveau inlaid mahogany display cabinet, the two glazed doors with copper stylised motifs enclosing an open shelved recess and carved flowerheads, on pilaster columns above inlaid stylised flowerhead panels, on a stand with undertier, 195cm high, 183cm wide and 48cm deep.
Anglo-Indian teak desk, stamped Harrison, possibly for Harrison & Son, cabinet makers, Burnley, Lancashire, with a later tooled green leather skiver to the top above a long drawer flanked by short drawers, on two three-drawer pedestal bases, 76cm high, 153cm wide and 87.5cm deep.CONDITION REPORT: This is mid-20th century. Veneered. The desk is in three pieces. The drawers are in smooth working order.
