An English polychrome and parcel gilt papier-mâché combination lady's sewing and writing table cabinet mid 19th century, the rectangular top with scallop edge opening to a fitted interior, over a conforming two door lacquered front opening to an arrangement of eight drawers around a central pigeon hole, the bottom drawer with a collapsible writing slope, the whole painted with shells and flowers within a border of mother-of-pearl and gilt, 35.5cm.
