A Victorian bamboo and Chinoiserie lacquered side cabinet, with glazed cupboard, open shelf and splayed feet. Width 73 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 202 cm, width 73 cm, depth 33.5 cm. There are some splits to the uppercase back panel and some light surface scratches. The lacquer is in good order. There is a single ¾ length split to the lower glazed cabinet backing. It does appear to have a slight lean to the right. The left hand outer side panel has a full length scuff line.
A 19th century ebonised and boulle marquetry side cabinet, with caddy top, pair of glazed doors and with adjustable shelves and plinth base. Width 131 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top is in generally good order. It is not warped and has only minor scratches and marks as one would expect. All brasswork seems to have been stripped and cleaned and has a later lacquer finish. It looks as though there has been some repair to the black and coloured areas in places. This is most evident on the left hand return. The doors are not warped. There are no significant losses to the drawer fronts but the same comments apply as regards the frieze in terms of fairly recent cleaning. The cloth lining to the inside is poorly fixed and requires replacing. The two shelves have recently been cleaned. The plinth base has a loss to the bottom edge at one side approximately 2 cm square. The sides of the cabinet are brass strung and the stringing is intact.
A Victorian walnut breakfront side cabinet, with brass grilles to each door and with Corinthian capitals to the centre pillars. Width 122 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 86 cm, depth at sides 34 cm, depth at centre 38 cm, depth of internal shelves 26.5 cm. The condition of the piece is reasonable. The top is flat and a fairly good colour. There are no significant marks or scratches. The main body of the piece is faded at the front in particular. The sides are both a little discoloured and have ink and water stains. There is a stress fracture to the right hand side. There are numerous marks and scuffs to the front and corners and also around the plinth base.
A pair of rosewood bedside cabinets, with moulded edge, shelf, single door and raised on bun feet. Width 34 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinets are in generally good condition. The right hand cabinet has an old stress fracture to the rosewood top. This runs from the right hand edge for approximately 7 inches. It is not open or raised. The door has a small surface scratch at the top right hand corner. The sides and door are in good condition as are the feet. The left hand cabinet is in extremely good order with no issues at all.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany standing corner cupboard, with swans neck pediment above a pair of glazed doors enclosing shelves, the base fitted with a further pair of glazed doors and all raised on short cabriole legs. Width 71.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 209 cm. The cabinet is in generally good order. The swans neck pediment and cornice have no issues. The frieze beneath is in good condition also. The doors close as they should and we have the key. There is a slight warp at the bottom of the right hand upper door. This could be significantly improved as the closing mechanism of the lock keeper is worn on the left hand door. There is no broken glass. The lower doors are in good order with no warping. The lock escutcheon is missing. The internal shelves are all loose and the shelf supports require attention. The cabriole legs are original and in good order. There is no evidence of any worm.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany standing corner cabinet, narrow proportions, raised on bracket feet. Width 55 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The display cabinet is in reasonably good condition. It could be used in its present state without the need for any repair or restoration. Neither door is warped. There is no broken glass. There are minor marks and scuffs to the cornice, the canted angels and front proud moulded edge. These should be visible on our photograph. The backboards and feet are original and all present.
