A Killarney arbutus, yew wood, bog oak and ebonised Collectors Cabinet, the ebonised rectangular top surmounted by a cresting of a lying stag, the side panels carved in relief with a design of round towers, high crosses and harps, the cupboard doors similarly decorated with views of Muckross Abbey and Ross Castle, opening to reveal a set of 12 small drawers with shamrock handles, the base with two cupboard doors opening to reveal four long drawers each inlaid with views of Killarney, the exterior with four large oval views bordered by shamrocks, acorns and oak leaves, on four bun feet, 77" high, 30" wide, 23" deep (196cms x 76cms x 58.5cms). A Bing Structator early metal construction kit - set no.7 Complete with instructions, the set is contained in a two drawer wooden cabinet and contains metal items to enable the construction of a variety of objects including ferris wheel with passenger carriages etc. The set was given to the vendor when he was a child by his neighbours. The set had belonged to the neighbour's son who had been killed when HMS Hood was sunk. (illustrated)
