The renowned Rue du Faubourg St. Antoine, which has historically served as the base for a number of important 18th and 19th century French cabinet makers, was the street upon which the locksmith Duvivier's business was located. Such locks by Duvivier have been discovered on furniture produced by Linke and Krieger. It is also interesting to note that the workshops of both the Linke and Zwiener firms were likewise established on this same road. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TPTP Lot will be moved to an offsite storage location (Cadogan Tate, Auction House Services, 241 Acton Lane, London NW10 7NP, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue.
