A VERY FINE ROYAL VIENNA STYLE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN URN/LAMP, 19TH CENTURY. Finely painted with classical scenes in the round, raised on conforming porcelain plinth, later converted to a lamp. Together with a Royal Vienna style cabinet plate with painted scene of Rebecca at the well (early staple repairs). Height 16 inches, diameter 9 inches (23 cm).
A U.S. MILITARY PHOTOGRAPH COLLECTION, CIRCA 1890-1945. Comprising over 60 original photographs beginning with a group of Spanish American War images including a large 4 inch x 7 inch photo of the Battleship Maine in Havana Harbor, the 2nd Artillery Batt. in Savannah, Georgia, a large Spanish-American parade as well as individual soldier cabinet card photos. Also a good selection of WWI photos including a black soldier (3), many AEF theater images as well as individual photos; additionally, a good offering of WWII, mostly studio photos, of soldiers in uniform, most all branches including one Wave. Plus a spattering of other images including a 1970 vintage U.S. Ranger photo and others.
A GROUP OF CIVIL WAR AND G.A.R. MATERIAL. Comprising of well over two dozen individual items including the discharge and naturalization papers of Elijah Bond H.Co 17th Cavalry Regiment, Illinois Volunteers, dated 1865 and 1867; a large unused Union Soldier Memorial Discharge certificate; a large ornate lithograph printed on canvas, service memorial credential modeled on the National Monument and inscribed to "Olender A. Salisbury" 95th Regt. Illinois Volunteer Infantry, four G.A.R. membership and honorable discharge certificates; cabinet card photographs of G.A.R. post commanders and conventioneers; a Civil War`s soldier letter written on patriotic stationary dated "Oct. 25, 1861" together with a G.A.R. medal, Civil War uniform buttons, and a 32nd National Encampment G.A.R medal dated "1898 Cincinnati, OH". Together with a printed copy of "Revised Report of the Select Committee relative to the Soldiers` National Cemetery, together with the Accompanying Documents, as reported to the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania dated 1865, and a G.A.R. convention autograph book, together with various other related items.
FOUR 19TH CENTURY ICE CUTTING, WELL DRILLING, AND 1893 COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION MIDWAY ALBUMEN CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPHS. Four exceptional period images comprising a very fine view of the 1893 Columbian Exposition Midway Plaisance with the Vienna Café and ferris wheel center background, the "Panorama of Kilavea" building on the left and "Old Vienna" buildings on the right, a good sharp well exposed image with studio back stamp of "C. Soresen, Cedar Falls, Iowa", 4.25 inches x 5.25 inches (11 x 13 cm) overall; a good image of a gushing well head with posed onlookers among the derrick and later inscribed on verso "possible picture, flowing well across road from Claim-Kimball S. Dak" 6.5 inches x 4.25 inches (16 x 11 cm) overall; and a series of two ice cutting scenes depicting cutters with ice saws on river, and loading blocks into ice house. Both partially obscured photo artist name, probably T.M. Askren. 4.25 inches x 6.5 inches (11 x 16.5 cm) each.
OVER 600 CEDAR FALLS-WATERLOO, IOWA RELATED PHOTOGRAPHS, EARLY TO MID 20TH CENTURY. The majority contained within three albums including 1915-1917 East Waterloo High School Football Team; birds eye view of downtown Waterloo, Cedar Falls Rotary Club; a fine exterior view of an East 4th Street, Waterloo, Iowa millinery store with broadsides in window for Buffalo Bill`s Wild West Show in Waterloo; airport snapshots; and some parade scenes and flood water scenery. Two early cabinet card portrait albums and three snapshot albums including local areas of interest and countrywide family travels and an album with many large scenes with corresponding titles and inscriptions for Cedar River Park; a circle side show with painted banners; golfing; Teddy Roosevelt`s Pullman Car; Waterloo Country Club; Golf Links at Sans Scuci; and Blackhawk I.O.O.F. Lodge interior temple shot.

Six pieces including a photograph of Ella Kate Ewing "The Missouri Giantess" considered to be the world`s tallest woman at the time with Husted Gorin, Missouri photographer`s stamp; a cabinet card of the Horvath Midgets with Barnum and Bailey Circus; a cabinet card of the Mizuno family by Frank Wendt; a photograph of a very obese woman by Charles Sweet, Cincinnati; a portrait of an elderly Native American woman by a Seattle photographer, the verso inscribed "Indian lady who when a small child warned the Whites the Indians were coming to fight them"; and a photograph of Commador Nutt and Miss Minnie Warren together with an albumen portrait of Buffalo Bill with facsimile signature. The largest 6.5 inches x 4.25 inches.
