Fred Baier, England, circa 1984. A burr ash and fiddled sycamore cabinet on stand, the cantilevered upper section inset with six short drawers over a raised plinth base,Fred Baier was commissioned to design furniture for Raymond McGrath's 1934 modernist house, St Anne's Court, where a very similar cabinet can be seen. A graduate of the Royal College of Art his works are in numerous international collections including the Victoria & Albert in London, The Arts Council, London, Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery and the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh W.5ft 3in D.1ft 11in. H.3ft 3in.CONDITION: Possibly very slightly faded but overall looks to be in good original condition. Provenance; Lyon & Turnbull sale lot 270 Nov.14 2007.
