A George III satinwood, mahogany and crossbanded writing cabinet, circa 1790, In the Sheraton taste, the three-quarter pierced brass gallery above a narrow frieze drawer and quarter veneered fall front with central purple heart diamond flanked by parcel gilt fluted tapered columns, the interior fitted with six graduated maple veneered drawers above apertures and a baize inset writing surface, the banded lower section with a drawer and slender square tapered legs united by an undertier and ending in spade feet, 61cm wide, 139cm high 41.5cm deep, Provenance: This writing table was formerly at Conishead Priory seat of the Braddyll family. John Gale Braddyll was MP for Lancaster Borough 1780-84 and then Horsham 1790-91 Carlisle 1791-96. He became a Groom of the Bedchamber to the Prince of Wales.

A William & Mary walnut, oysterwood and marquetry cabinet on stand, the whole inlaid in marquetry and green stained bone with oval panels of birds to front and tulips to sides, and inner filled panels of floral ornament within boxwood stringings, the interior similarly inlaid with panels of tulips and flowers, the upper part with moulded crossgrained cornice, fitted two cushion fronted frieze drawers, the interior fitted four small drawers to recess and eight further drawers enclosed by a pair of doors, the stand fitted one frieze drawer, on six later spiral turned supports with shaped flat stretchers, on six turned bun feet, 47ins wide x 19.5ins deep x 65ins high (some movement to carcase work, part of right side cornice missing and splits to veneers, and some veneers missing)
