Two Framed Sanguine Prints: An 18th century engraving by Demarteau after Boucher entitled; `Tiré du Cabinet de Madame d`Azaincourt` No. 45, 8¾ ins x 6¼ ins (22 cms x 16 cms), mounted in a moulded gilt frame 14¼ ins x 10½ ins (36 cms x 27 cms). A lithographic sketch: two views of a child`s head, 10½ ins x 9 ins (27 cms x 23 cms), in a gilt frame 14¾ ins x 13½ ins (37.5 cms x 34 cms).
A Fine 17th Century Ebonised Table Cabinet. The top & sides mounted with pierced brass corner brackets and two carrying handles. The front fitted with nine ripple moulded ebonised drawers inset with engraved bone panels capturing scenes of rural life with men hunting, fishing and defecating in landscape, bordered by bone divides enriched with pen-work embellishments. The long central door inlaid with an arched panel depicting a young woman above a lower panel with a reclining soldier. The door opening to reveal a marbled paper lined interior housing two small drawers flanking a winged cherub-head divide that fronts a secret sliding drawer. Raised on bun feet 20½ ins (52 cms) in height, 24¾ ins (63 cms) in width, 11¾ ins (30 cms) in depth.
A Small Early 18th Century Joined Oak Side Cabinet. The planked top having cleated ends above a panelled cupboard with a door to one side fitted with an ornately cast brass escutcheon and standing on cannon barrel legs with square block feet united by peripheral stretchers, 31 ins (79 cms) high, 34 ins (87 cms) wide, 17 ins (43 cms) deep.

Vol.1-7 420 hand-coloured plates (60 in each vol.) some minor trimming several vol. with unobtrusive water-stain contemporary calf rebacked the first 3 vol. rebound 12mo Harrison 1798-1802. ***Bucop records 5 copies all more or less imperfect; it seems that 2 parts (only) of an abortive 8th volume (?another 8 plates) may have been published. The only copy in auction records with these was sold in 1976 and had 428 plates but these were partly in facsimile. “...contains novel accounts of birds given to the editor by a nameless friend who had resided in New South Wales and new plants are described from the same source...3 coloured plates and text to a part twenty parts to a volume and seven volumes...1798-1802” Mathews p. 98 but no copy in his own collection.
Sonnerat.Voyage aux Indes Orientales 3 vol. second edition first 8vo edition half-titles 7 folding engraved plates by Poisson after drawings by the author some marginal browning to endpapers contemporary tree calf spines gilt and with red morocco labels a little rubbed slight wear to corners [Cordier Sinica 2102; Hill 578; Nissen IVB 886; Pritzel 8774] 8vo Paris 1782. ***The French naturalist Sonnerat (1746-1814) came from a family of merchants and spent almost seven years exploring India Malacca Philippines Ceylon and China. The work which was originally published in two quarto volumes contains material on customs religion and arts as well as natural history. This was Sonnerat`s second expedition and on his return he handed over his best natural history specimens to the Cabinet du Jardin du Roi and was named Marine Commissioner. For some 70 years Sonnerat`s account remained the most important contribution to the ornithology of China (Stresemann). .
