Bronze firegilt and TurquoisesTibet , 17th centuryDimensions: Height 15 cm Wide 10 cm Depth 7 cmWeight: 481 gramsSeated Buddha on double reverse lotus base with beaded rim on the bottom, covered in an alcove with border decorated by various stones, some missing. The alcove is attached to a square expansive base of several decorative layers, the middle showing two mythical lion-beasts supporting the throne. The Buddha is seated with legs crossed and showing the gesture of calling the earth to witness, the expression is calm, the chest is partly exposed. The bronze is sealed and decorated with an incised double vajra and yin and yang symbol.Provenance: Ex Cabinet Portier Paris - France
