IRVING HENRY: (1838-1905) English Stage Actor. A good vintage signed sepia cabinet photograph of Irving in a head and shoulders pose. Photograph by Sarony of New York and bearing their imprint to the lower mount. Signed by Irving in bold, dark fountain pen ink to a light area of the background and also adding the name of an ocean liner and date, May 1884, in his hand. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, otherwise VG The present photograph dates from Irving's tour of North America with the actress Ellen Terry, during which time she made her American debut playing Queen Henrietta opposite Irving in Charles I in 1883.
