A Portuguese hardwood cabinet on stand, having an arrangement of ten drawers (some incorporating dummy drawers), on a stand with turned decoration, 121 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Some scratches and chips as well as splits to the top. The moulding surrounding the top is parting slightly at the mitre joints,and there are some chips to the edges and corners. The escutcheon plates behind the carrying handles are slightly loose but present. The escutcheon plates on the array of drawers to the front are all present, but two locking mechanisms are missing, and others are loose. The piece of moulding on the left of the top of the stand is loose and slightly coming away from the stand, the mitre joints at either corner of the tops of the stand are also parting slightly. There is also a very small triangle of wood missing to the bottom left of the right hand side of the chest. The turned wood supports and the stretchers that form the stand, have various chips and pieces missing, and various scratches and gouges commensurate with age. The overall chest on stand is very slightly wobbly. Overall presents extremely well, with no obvious restoration or major damage, and appears relatively complete and original.
