A rare George III provincial Argyle, in the form of a can with a reeded base and rim and a rising domed cover with an acorn finial, the body engraved on one side with a crest and on the other with the initial 'G' within a hatched oval cartouche, the interior with a cylindrical hot water container and a pull-off cover, by John Hampston and John Prince, York 1790, 4.75in (12cm) high, 10.5oz.
A rare late 19th century American mixed metals pitcher with a globular body, a cylindrical neck and c-scroll handle chased with scrolls, the hammered ground decorated with three brown trout swimming amongst grass or weed stems whilst a dragonfly flits overhead, all heightened with mixed metal detail, by Tiffany & Co, New York 1877/78 7.75in (19.7cm) high, 33.5oz.
A rare William & Mary East Anglian silvergilt trefid sweetmeat spoon, maker's mark only, for Thomas Havers, Norwich c.1690, 4.25in (10.7cm),0.25oz. This spoon was found in a house (parts of which date from the 13th century) in the Thorpe St Andrew area of Norwich in 1996 when the kitchen ceiling was removed to reveal original oak woodwork.

Boss & Co A magnificent brass bound oak and leather cartridge magazine for about 500 cases, the green beize lined lid with makers paper label, oak dividers, lid impressed with the initials A.G., with makers paper labels applied to each end dated 1937 and 1938 together with its Boss & Co. luggage label inscribed A. Gusar Esq, International Sportsmans Club It is very rare to find magazines of this size and form by this maker. It remains in exceptional condition for its age.
Holland & Holland A fine and rare 12-bore Modele De Luxe single trigger sidelock ejector over and under gun, 36011 29-inch barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/2 and full choke borings, matted ventilated rib, the frame and top-lever engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, the bolstered fences with chiseled and carved decoration, the makers name signed within a scrolling banner, the hand detachable locks engraved with scenes of flighting duck, gold lined cocking indicators, the action base engraved with a snipe in flight, Holland & Holland patent single trigger, rolled edge "trigger guard, 14 3/4-inch well figured stock with semi-pistol grip, three piece fore-end, nitro proof, in its brass bound oak and leather case 8lb.

The Louis Wain Mazawattee tea box, c. 1910, an orig. rectangular paper-covered cardboard tea box, the lift-up lid depicting a cats tea dance with orchestra, all four sides showing couples dancing, others in conversation, the lady cats with attractive neck ruffs, some holding fans, the gentleman cats wearing bow ties and one sporting a monacle, the interior of the box lined with gold paper and the lid printed with the legend 'Delicious Mazawattee Tea. Genuine Only in Sealed Packets & Tins', minor age wear to extrems., overall dimensions 9.5 in. long, 5 in. tall and 6 in. deep (24 x 12.5 x 15 cm.). A rare and important item of Wainiana. (1)

A fine and rare Charles Frederick Worth fancy dress gown, French, circa 1890 labelled, Worth, 7 Rue de la Paix, Paris, in Elizabethan style, the open robe of fabulous Ottoman inspired deep purple voided velvet against a gold ground, with tabbed hemline, padded caps to the elaborate lattice-worked red velvet and gold satin sleeves, the front with gold satin stomacher and matching gold satin petticoat adorned with pearls This robe was worn around 1893 by Madame Pecoul at Princess Sagan's ball and sold with the lot is a photograph of her wearing the gown. A good group of Biba clothing, early 1970s, fifteen pieces including: gold satin bomber jacket with flocked 'Biba' to the front; green chunky cord coat, pink wrap-over T-shirt emblazoned with Biba logo, sequinned jacket and others, (qty) The owner of this and the following lot worked at Biba when it first opened. The rare flocked bomber jacket was a sample, not put into general production. The pink wrap-over t-shirt is also rare as it formed part of the staff uniform.

A rare Joseph Haskins 'Maberley Forever' Northamptonshire election bobbin, circa 1820-30 inscribed in red and black spots with pink and clear glass spangles Lt Colonel Maberley (1798-1885) whose family had made a fortune for supplying the army with boots and shoes during the Napoleonic wars, was elected MP for the Northamptonshire Borough from 1820-30 first as a Tory, then as a Whig.

A very rare Indian combined elephant goad (ancus) and matchlock pistol,17th/18th century formed with down-curved blade and an additional central spike each joined to the barrel by an elaborate brass collar, the barrel forming the forward section of the haft, fitted with brass back-sight, pan with pivot-cover, and retained by seven brass bands, wooden full stock with near spherical butt, retaining two rings for suspension and iron ramrod 75cm; 29.5 in Op.cit., p.344, fig.257b.
A rare Indo-Persian powder-flask (wootz) of watered steel,18th/early 19th Century with pod-shaped body joined by a brass seam, decorated on each side with a vertical arrangement of three cartouche-shaped panels and a stylised flower, fitted with a pierced loop for suspension, with no provision for a cut-off, and retaining some of its watered pattern throughout 25cm; 9.875in Powder-flasks of this form are frequently encountered in painted leather and hide; examples in watered steel are notably rare.
A rare Philippines (moro) mail shirt,19th century formed of numerous large brass plates joined by butted brass rings, opening at the front, secured by a pair of shaped brass catches, extending to the thigh, and covering the upper portion of the arms; a rare Philippines (Moro) brass helmet, early 19th century, formed in two halves joined at a raised pierced comb, with pointed peak front and rear, pierced around the base of the skull, fitted with plume-holder at the rear and a pair of ear-defences; a Philippines (Moro) armoured shirt, 19th century, formed of closely meshed rows of butted brass links carrying horn plates of characteristic form throughout, and closed at the front by a pair of brass catches on larger horn plates; and a rare Indonesian armoured shirt, 19th century, formed of woven rattan, applied over its entire surface with numerous rectangular bone plaques arranged in horizontal rows including large circular bosses at the front and another at the rear (4) Op.cit., pp.446-447, figs.318, 318a, and p.426, fig.301a.
