Lot 41

- One of an estimated 104 3.4 litre 'S' Drophead Coupes made in both LHD and RHD - Built to RHD personal export delivery specification and retaining its original Coventry issued number plate - Recently fettled by marque specialist Twyford Moors and fitted with power steering This original right hand drive Jaguar XK 150 is one of the exceptionally rare S variants fitted with the 3.4 engine, and the highly practical Drophead Coupe body style. It is believed that just 104 versions of this model were made, with the right hand drive examples making up a very small proportion of that number. The Jaguar Heritage Production Record Certificate on file states that this fabulous car was manufactured on May 6th 1959 and the original colours were Imperial Maroon paint with Biscuit interior trim, and a Sand coloured folding roof, the same wonderful colours in which we find the vehicle finished today. The Certificate continues to state that the car was originally supplied by one of the largest dealers of the time, Henlys of London, and was allocated for Personal Export Delivery for sale to a Major J. M. C. Plant. Major Plant was apparently stationed somewhere in Germany and the car was registered (presumably by the Export Department at the Browns Land Factory) with the Coventry number plate of 'UKV 39', the registration which the car still proudly wears. It is unknown when the car was restored, but it is presumed to have been done to a very high standard in the 1990's by a company called CarPoint, as under the bonnet there is a plaque stating "restored by CarPoint", who appear to be based near Stuttgart in Germany. It is possible therefore that the car remained in Germany until at least the 1990's either in the care of Major Plant, or subsequent custodians after Major Plant's ownership. What we do know, is that in January 1999 the car was registered with the DVLA as 'WSJ 809', and shortly afterwards in April 1999 it was registered in Guernsey as '36992'. The car remained in Guernsey until November 2009 when it was acquired by a resident of Jersey (the vendor). He tasked a well known Jersey restoration workshop to "Re-commission vehicle after a laid up period". The workshop proceeded to carry out many routine repairs during the next few years and in July 2014 the 150 was exported from Jersey by the owner and brought to England, where it was re-registered in England and re-united with its original 'UKV 39' number plate. Highly regarded Jaguar XK specialist Twyford Moors of Hampshire then carried out a thorough service in early 2016 with the in-depth work totalling just over £4,000. The history file contains numerous invoices for the works mentioned above, the Jaguar Heritage Production Certificate, a green Guernsey Registration Book, and Export Certificates for both Guernsey and Jersey. The odometer displays just over 10,000 miles, and it is thought that this is the distance the car has covered since its restoration. On our short drive of the car to take the photographs we felt it performed superbly, and with the benefit of hydraulic power steering, manoeuvrability was eased. The vendor describes this beautiful and rare original right hand drive XK150 3.4 S as being totally correct in that its chassis, engine, and body numbers all match those stated on the Heritage Certificate, and that the car is in 'very good to excellent' condition. These cars offer a rare combination of superlative looks and usable high performance, and with the benefit of power steering, a CD changer, and what appear to be heated seats, this one would be at home both on the open road or a mountain hair pin. It is time to plan that European tour!

Lot 70

OSI was established in Turin in 1960 as a body-making subsidiary of Carrozzeria Ghia. From manufacturing for Fiat and Innocenti it began producing its own vehicles, not least some 2,000 Ford 2.3-litre V6-engined versions of the Ford Taunus-based 20M TS Coupe featuring Ghia-designed four-seater coachwork. 'CMU 927' had had considerable work carried out prior to the vendor's purchase in 2003 - eg £5,000 worth of bodywork by Marquis Cars and a retrimmed interior. It had also been fitted with a Burton Engines 2.8-litre Ford V6 powerplant, new clutch and stainless steel exhaust system, and the braking and suspension systems attended to. After a spell at the vendor's home in Japan, it moved to his holiday residence in Italy before coming to the UK in 2014. He presently describes this rare and interesting OSI as being in 'generally very good condition and ready to use and enjoy'. It comes with V5 and history file.

Lot 57

- 36,000 recorded miles, current ownership since 1990 and just 2 previous keepers - Offered with original book pack with handbooks and service book - Recently re-connollised front seats and a no advisory MOT into April 2017 Though shorter and narrower than the Silver Cloud III it replaced, the John Polwhele Blatchley-penned Shadow nevertheless possessed greater space for both luggage and passengers and certainly boasted far more modern looks and was manufactured from 1965 until 1977, good examples of which are now increasing in demand. Finished in Blue with Blue coloured hide upholstery 'NOA 185P' has been in private ownership since 1990 with only 2 other previous keepers. Displaying 36,000 miles the Rolls is offered with original book pack with handbooks and service book and has recently benefitted from the front seats being re-connolised. Felt by the vendor to have "good" bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, 6750cc V8 engine and automatic gearbox 'NOA 185P' will be driven to the sale and is ready to impress a new keeper with its sumptuous interior and magic carpet ride - a rare find at this reputed mileage and offered with a no advisory MOT into April 2017.

Lot 26

- Convincing copy of rare A7 model crafted by its previous keeper - Interior and body's fabric covering entrusted to Aldridge Trimming Ltd - Thorough mechanical overhaul, new 12v wiring, alloy tank, c.£4k in parts Hailing from the late 1920s/early 1930s, the Mulliner Sports featured striking two-seater bodies crafted by Mulliners of Bordesley Green, Birmingham. They were a rare variant of the ubiquitous 7 breed, of which only around a dozen original examples are known to the Austin 7 Mulliner register. '705 YUC' is a smartly-presented evocation of the type, created in recent years by its previous keeper, complete with boat tail and split-vee windscreen. It features a polished alloy bonnet and Red painted and Black fabric-covered body teamed with a relatively luxurious Red leather and wood-trimmed interior - all trimming operations were entrusted to Aldridge Trimming of Wolverhampton. The mechanics of the donor car were treated to a thorough overhaul, during which c.£4,000-worth of new parts were installed, including a 12 volt wiring harness by Vehicle Wiring Services and alloy fuel tank. The vendor currently considers '705 YUC' to be in 'excellent' condition with regard to its engine, gearbox, bodywork, paintwork, electrical equipment and interior trim.

Lot 71

PLEASE NOTE: This lot does not possess a valid MOT certificate.   - The 88th of just 175 RHD E-Type 3.8 'Flat Floor' Fixed Head Coupes made - Current ownership since 1986, matching chassis and engine block numbers - Extensively restored over several decades and still in need of shaking down Famously launched at the 1961 Geneva Salon, the Jaguar E-Type created a furore. With its stunning looks, outrageous performance and accessible price tag, the newcomer left rivals reeling and customers clamouring. While, early competition success at the hands of Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori amongst others helped cement its reputation. Built as a monocoque with an engine cradling front sub-frame, the model's combination of all-round independent suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes gave it excellent roadholding / handling capabilities. Fed by triple SU HD8 carburettors and topped with a 'straight port' DOHC cylinder head, its 3781cc straight-six engine was quoted as developing some 265bhp and 260lbft. Allied to a four-speed Moss gearbox, the free-revving unit reputedly enabled the E-type to sprint from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and onto 150mph. Seemingly borrowed from a light aircraft, the wonderful turned aluminium centre console that adorned its dashboard was complemented by scalloped 'Dunlopillo' seats and a wood-rim steering wheel. Achingly beautiful yet viciously quick, the E-type remains for many the ultimate production Jaguar. While any fixed head coupe is desirable, the so-called 'flat floor' cars enjoy a particularly exalted status. Dating from early in the production cycle before Jaguar responded to popular demand and had footwell recesses pressed into the model's previously 'flat-floor' platform so that it could better accommodate tall drivers, they arguably represent the automotive icon in its purist form. The 88th of just 175 right-hand drive E-Type 3.8 litre 'Flat Floor' Fixed Head Coupes made, chassis 860088 was built on 9th December 1961 and dispatched some ten days later via Henlys of London to supplying dealer Bentalls Ltd of Kingston-on-Thames, Surrey. Registered in that same county as '666 WPH' on 22nd December 1961, the Jaguar was first owned by J.G. Brigg Esq. An accompanying green continuation logbook shows that the two-seater had relocated to Basildon, Essex and the custody of Douglas Turner by March 1972. Thereafter, it is known to have passed through the hands of William Blyth of Rochester, Christopher John Ward of Northfleet, Richard William Gulvin of Gravesend and Army officer Michael John Dixon; the latter changing the E-type's colour to Red during 1976. Re-registered with the DVLA some four years later, the Jaguar was subject to a Vehicle Identity Check and has its engine number recorded as 7E4531-9. However, this is the number visible to its replacement cylinder head. The number stamped into the cylinder block adjacent to the oil filter mount is 'R3083-9' which is the engine number quoted on the Fixed Head Coupe's Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace Certificate. Although running and driving when it entered the current ownership in 1986, '666 WPH' was soon found to be in need of extensive restoration. Abbey panels who supplied the E-Type monocoques dispensed with any internal rustproofing and the vendor recalls that once stripped to bare metal it was only the car's bulkhead, roof and chassis legs which did not require major attention. Principally comprising filler and solder the original bonnet was discarded with a new one sourced from SNG Barratt. The seller lead loaded the restored bodywork himself and some thirteen years after it was repainted there are no obvious signs of bubbling. The chassis number 860088 is stamped into what appears to be the original factory fitted 'picture frame' and the Jaguar is understood to pleasingly retain its original body plate too. A labour of love over the past three decades, the refurbishment has not long been completed and thus the E-type still requires shaking down / debugging. A notably early and decidedly rare 'flat floor' fixed head coupe, chassis '88' is offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, Heritage Certificate, restoration photos, sundry invoices and hopefully a fresh MOT certificate.

Lot 36

- Reputedly 1 of just 15 Broadspeed Turbo Bullits built and the only LHD survivor - Exhibited at the 1973 Barcelona Motor Show and subsequently owned by renowned Spanish racing driver Rafaez Barrios - Said to have covered just 30,000km from new Inspired by the legendary Mustang, the Capri was Ford's European pony car and has a special place in many enthusiasts' hearts. With 138bhp on tap, the 3.0-litre versions of the MKI were quick cars, but a lot faster still when breathed on by one of the independent tuners of the period. Notable among these was Broadspeed who, based on their experience of preparing racing Escorts and Capris, offered both normally-aspirated and Turbocharged 'Bullit' Capris' for the road - the name was a nod to the legendary film Bullitt (with two Ts) and its Mustang-driving detective of the same name. It is thought only 15 Turbo variants were built, all of which were based on MKI 'Facelift' chassis, of which the sale car is one of only seven remaining, and the only left-hand drive example. Manufactured at Ford's Halewood plant in December 1972, it was immediately converted by Broadspeed before being shipped to Spain, where it formed part of the company's 1973 Barcelona Motorshow display. It then passed into the hands of Spanish racing driver Rafael Barrios before acquiring owners in Madrid and Coruna. After a period of storage following a minor accident it was acquired by Garcia Autos of Lugo, from whom the vendor purchased it in 2007. It was granted the UK registration 'YNE 125L' in July 2008; the same year it featured in Retro Ford magazine alongside 'EPY 302L', the oldest Turbo Bullit. Understood to have driven just 30,000 kilometres from new, this rare Fast Ford has never been restored, yet remains resplendent in its original livery of Monza Blue and contrasting bonnet, and is currently considered by the vendor to have 'excellent' bodywork, Tan vinyl/cloth interior trim, 3.1-litre V6 engine and four-speed manual gearbox, and 'very good' paintwork. It comes complete with rear window louvres, boot spoiler and a fresh MOT.

Lot 12

Alongside the Dante Giacosa-penned four-door 2300 Saloon and Estate cars, Fiat decided to offer a two-door Coupe styled by Sergio Sartorelli of Ghia - the standard model boasted 105bhp while the more powerful S version gave 136bhp. A prototype was first displayed at the 1960 Turin Motorshow and the final version was placed on general sale in 1962. The major underpinnings were shared with the 2300 Saloon, (which itself was effectively a mild update of the highly proven 2100 model); the only notable differences being an increase in the front and rear track and final drive ratio. Though the Coupe body was developed by Ghia, the styling house lacked the production capacity for the envisaged volumes, and manufacture was therefore subcontracted to the Turin-based OSI concern. The model reigned from 1962 to 1969, when it was supplanted by the 130 Coupe. The 2300 was of unitary construction and featured double wishbone front suspension with torsion bar springing and a solid axle suspended on leaf springs at the rear. Braking was by servo-assisted discs on all four corners. Most examples produced were equipped with four-speed manual transmission, though a Saxomat automated clutch (later, a three-speed Borg Warner automatic unit) was a theoretical option. Power operated windows, Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel, passenger footrest and other such luxury equipment were standard fit for the elegant new Coupe. This left-hand drive example is a rare first series one - notable for the lack of window frames in the doors. It is finished in White and trimmed in contrasting Black leather. A previously restored vehicle, it is presently classed by the vendor as having 'excellent' interior trim, 'very good' bodywork, paintwork, six-cylinder engine and electrical system, and 'good' manual transmission. The odometer currently registers an unwarranted 91,223 kilometres and the rare Fiat is being sold complete with its original user's manual.

Lot 32

By 1932 Morgan's three-wheeler chassis could be ordered with four types of body, namely: Super Sports, Sports Two-Seater, Sports Family and Family. The Super Sports was notable for its chromium-plated exhaust pipes that ran the length of the body. This truly splendid-looking example of the breed has been the subject of a professional restoration under the supervision of the present keeper. The overhaul of the 1100cc V-twin JAP engine included new crankshaft, conrods, pistons, barrels etc. 'GX 3164' is finished in Black and trimmed in Green and is currently felt by the vendor to have 'good' Beetleback bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, engine and three-speed transmission. He is offering the mighty Morgan complete with history file of invoices etc, photographic record of the restoration from 'as found' condition, original weather equipment, custom-built trailer and some spares. A rare opportunity to acquire an authentic and very desirable version of Morgan's extraordinary period masterpiece.

Lot 2

- Believed to be second oldest surviving Saxon in existence according to the Saxon Vehicle Registrar - Restored for Don 'Big Daddy' Garlits in the late 1970's when fitted with electric starter and electric lights - Previous owners include Alan Test, Grandson of the first president of Saxon Motors - Imported by present owner in 2011, new petrol tank fitted in 2015 Despite once being the seventh largest US car maker, Saxon is now little heard of and this delightful Edwardian light car is believed to be the second oldest survivor. First registered in Connecticut during May 1914, it was restored for the 'King of the Dragsters' Don 'Big Daddy' Garlits in the early '70s and retained by his museum for some 20 years - other former owners include Alan Test, the grandson of the manufacturer's first President. The vendor imported 'BF 6028' to the UK in 2011 and admits the 50-year old restoration is 'now showing its age' and currently classes the two-seater bodywork, Grey and Black paintwork, Black leather interior trim, 1440cc engine and two-speed manual transmission as all being in 'average' condition. The Roadster has been retro-fitted with electric starter and lights and comes complete with new fuel tank, original handbook and pair of 1914 licence plates. A very rare opportunity.

This is a rare opportunity of aquiring one, of only 10, faithful replicas of a sign issued by MG Motors to their dealerships and garages in the immediate post war period. There are only 2 known surviving originals in the UK, estimated value by the auction houses as £3 K +. These replicas were reviewed by the "Classic & Sportscar" magazine in June 2014 as follows. " After several years searching for a period MG showroom sign, Rodney Manners decided to fabricate his own. " A generous owner allowed me to measure up his rare original, so that I could make one for my garage," explains long-term MG enthusiast, Manners, who is a retired chartered mechanical engineer." The sign is fabricated from 18 SWG. mild steel, polyester powder coated in a clear lacquer, giving a grey metallic appearance. The two octagonal MG logos are laser cut to accept the two embosssed red polyester lenses. These are vacuum formed as per the original. The replica signs differ from the original, in that they have a low energy LED lamp instead of an old fashioned tungsten filament bulb. The final touch is assembly with brass set screws throughout, which enhances the patinated appearance. This example is one of the original prototypes, and has become available following a garage clear out. It has a few minor scratches, and a little superficial rust showing under the lacquer, which adds to the period patinated appearance.
