Loops VGCFormed at Wantage 24.10.1860 as part of 1st Admin Bn. (HQ Reading). On consolidation in 1873 became ‘K’ Company. Battalion became 1st VB Berkshire Regt 1.12.1882.

WW2 OSS Detachment 101 Special Forces silver badge.An exceptionally rare die-cast example, reverse impressed “STERLING”. Original stout brooch pin VGCDetachment 101 formed 14.02.1942 under the auspices of the Office of Strategic Services, the US equivalent of SOE, following recommendations to General Stilwell. It’s first member and its CO was Captain Carl Eifler (later known as “The Dangerous Colonel”). The unit was raised to sabotage behind enemy lines and to raise, train and work with local guerilla groups, mainly Kachins.
