OUR FIRST FOUR - APPLE PROMO. The exceptionally rare very 1st Apple package! Joachim Noske (The Beatles Covered) states: "Encased in a black cardboard folder came the first four singles on the newly launched Apple label, by The Beatles themselves and three other acts. Not for sale in the shops, this presentation folder was for promotional purposes only and only distributed among the media in 1968." All four records are in very clean to Ex+ condition with perhaps just a couple of extremely faint and wispy markings - they are presented here in their original folders with the mounts for the records still all firmly in place. The four presentation folders are in excellent condition with only very minor wear. The outer box is in G+ condition with noted wear/creasing to all edges and some light tears.
WIMPLE WINCH - RUMBLE ON MERSEY SQUARE SOUTH/ATMOSPHERES 7" MISPRESS (TF 781). The mind-blowing double header from the manic Merseyside outfit, this extremely rare Fontana 45 of Rumble On Mersey Square South c/w Atmospheres (this is the astonishingly hard to find mispressing, B side is labelled Typical British Workmanship) will indeed blow your socks off! The record is in VG condition with surface markings, some scuffs and a couple of light scratches to the playing surfaces. The labels are in good order with the three pronged centre fully intact. Both sides have been played and the tasting notes are as such: A side with very little surface noise on the intro, nice and clear vocals at the start of the track. Some light pops in the middle of the track. The ever so raucous 'meltdown' sounds monstrous with very little distortion. When the dynamic decreases towards the end of the track, there is little disturbance. A staggering side that can be fully enjoyed. B side with the almost as raucous guitar motif sounding killer, this is heard later in the track an octave higher and with more decoration, also sounding ace. Minor surface noise in the 'breaks' of the track. The harmonies later on in the track are lovely and clear. A couple of light pops towards the end of the track. Both sides have no skips or jumps. Complete with original company sleeve.
