Very strong/ good colours & strike, extra black border & dotted outer border. Minor rear body staining plus outer & bottom edge flake plus hole drilled to hang (common practice in early lid collecting days). Another exceptionally rare lid. (8/10)

A VERY UNUSUAL AND RARE CARVED 'BLACK FOREST' MANTEL OR BRACKET CLOCK, 19th century by A.C.V. Bergen of Interlacken, the rustic case carved with various foliage, and a French movement by Marti & Co. with outside count wheel, striking on a steel bell, and a black two stage dial with gilt Roman numerals and skeleton escapement, 15.5in (39cm)h x 16in (41cm)w.
