As Martin P. Snyder notes about this map in City of Independence, this map was the first detailed map of the interior of Philadelphia. It was the first map to identify all the streets and alleys of Philadelphia, and the exact locations of important institutions of the time. The cataloguing for the Sotheby's lot notes that they located only five copies in public institutions: Philadelphia, Historical Society of Pennsylvania (2 of which one is defective); Philadelphia, Library Company; New York Public Library, Stokes Collection; Washington D.C., Library of Congress. Boy Bishop cast leaded token with an old ticket which states of 'Bury St. Edmunds' the piece is roughly of mediaeval groat size and the reverse similar to same but superimposed at centre a large cross, no legend being visible. Again with the obverse no legend is visible but there is a central mediaeval ship which has lead some numismatists to reason that these are in fact coin weights. I think not, you would not produce a coin weight in lead for obvious reasons, loss of correct weight. It has been put forward by S.E.Rigold that this is actually a product of Ipswich and a rendering of The Town Arms, there are Boy Bishop tokens known of Ipswich but these are rare, sold with old ticket, F
Webley Royal Irish Constabulary Revolver No1 (New Model) calibre .450, barrel 4". Left hand of frame marked with flying bullet and W&S underneath. Below this 'WEBLEY'S' over 'R.I.C.' No. 1450CF (Model No 1, cal .450 centre fire) SN: 86111. The butt cap is engraved 'M.P.' over '18'. Denotes issue to the METROPOLITAN POLICE rack number 18. Fluted 6 shot cylinder. Ejector rod with acorn finial. Butt plate with lanyard ring. This issue from 1883 to 1911 with the Metropolitan Police. A large heavy and impressive Victorian Police revolver and rare on the market. G.W.O and condition. Crisp action on double and single. Deactivated in 1996 with certificate.
