A very good large 19th Century American leather humpback Travelling Trunk, by Liebrich Hillebrand & Wolf, Philadelphia, (stamped on brass lock) profusely tooled with lines and decoration and inscribed on lid "Warranted Sole Leather with Steel Springs," the interior attractively fitted, with trays etc., and with one original leather strap, approx. 74cms x 46cms (29" x 18") made before 1870 and in very good condition. Bronze Age Spear with Spikes, ca. 1500 BC Rare copper spearhead from the Indus Valley region. Hooked ribs protruding from beneath the blade, which would have been heavily sharpened 3,500 years ago. A gruesome and massive weapon. it measures 33- mm long. Would have been polished and shined in antiquity, to reflect the sun's brilliant rays as the soldiers marched into battle. An exquisite and extraordinary piece; Property of a Private London collector; previously acquired in teh 1990s.

AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A RARE SERBIAN KNIFE FOR USE WITH THE 8MM YUGOSLAVIAN M1948 MAUSER RIFLE CLOSELY PATTERNED AFTER THE GERMAN WWII8MM MAUSER K98K RIFLE. THE M1948 BAYONET WAS A SHORT VERSION OF THE PRE-WWII M1924 BAYONET, ADOPTED WHEN YUGOLSLAVIA REBUILT THE VOJNO TAHNICKI (MILITARY TECHNICAL INSTITUTE) FACTORY, WHICH WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED DURINT THE SECOND WORLD WAR BY THE GERMANS. THE CRYLLIC MARKING ON THE BLADRE IN A SEMI-CIRCLE OVER THE NUMBER 44 SHOWS THIS BAYONET IS PRE 1950 AND MANUFACTURTED IN THE ZAVODI CRVENA ZASTAVA (RED FLAG WORKS) KRAGUJEVAC, SERBIA WHICH IS STILL OPERATING TODAY. THE BAYONET IS AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY MADE AND STILL HAS GREASE ON THE BLADE. IT HAS MATCHING SERIAL NUMBER 78544 ON THE CROSSPIECE OF THE BAYONETAND ON THE FROG STUD WITH A 44 IN A TRIANGLE ON THE SCABBARD. THE VENDOR WAS GIVEN THIS BAYONET BY A SENIOR OFFICER IN THE BOSNIAN SERB ARMY AS A GIFT WHILST SERVING THERE AS AN OFFICER IN THE NATO STABILISATION FORCE (SFOR).
