Unique 1924 Hermann Hauser I seven string guitar, labelled Herm. Hauser, Lautenmacher in Munchen, A.D 1924, with German slotted head, zero fret, adjustable floating fingerboard, German spruce top and maple back and sides, well early restored crack to the table which does not affect tonal or structural qualities, sold with an official Hauser certificate signed and dated Kathrin Hauser, 26.08.2014, within a Hiscox case *This guitar was built the very same year that Hauser met Segovia on the latter's first concert tour of Germany. Built in what is considered to be the maker's pre-Iberian period, derived from local traditions, the addition of the seventh string may indicate that this guitar was intended for the 'extended range' virtuoso solo guitar works by composer-guitarists such as Legnani, Coste & Mertz. *There are two similar examples of this very rare model in possession of the Hauser family, known as 'Quintbass Guitars' which can be seen using the following link: http://www.hauserguitars.de/english/docs/galerie.htm#

A Rare Aesthetic Movement Highly Carved Cabinet Cupboard In Oak. The top has three leaded top doors with carved geometric panels below, crisply carved. The top has three panels carved with a Japanese style decoration. The cupboards are supported by 'L' shaped iron hinges of simple form. The base has three large drawers with unusual steel ring pull handles. The sides are finely carved to match the front of the cupboard. Terminates on a square reeded type leg. Carved & signed to the sides, Makers name 'J.C.Sowerby' Dated 1886. Similar to pieces sold by Libertys Of London in the late 19th Century. 70" in height, 18" in depth & 79.5" in width.

Finished with a flamboyant swirl, in the hand of the author. Carroll most famously wrote ' Alice's Adventures In Wonderland .' Su carta vergé pur chiffon, frontespizio a caratteri rossi e neri, 15 tavole nel testo e 15 fuori testo incise da Pablo Picasso, firma a matita dell’illustratore al colophon. Legatura d’amatore in marocchino arancione contenente la brossura editoriale, doublure in seta beige, rotella fitomorfa all’unghiatura, dorso a 5 nervi con titolo in oro, custodia. Splendida copia dell’esemplare 84 di una tiratura di soli 145 della prima opera illustrata da Picasso per Skira. È noto che la scelta del testo fosse dovuta al suggerimento di Matisse e le splendide illustrazioni fedelmente seguono le Metamorfosi di Ovidio con uno stile dai contorni puri e di un erotismo discreto. Il volume fu stampato il giorno del cinquantesimo compleanno di Picasso. Cramer 19: “This is one of the rare times that Picasso illustrated a book with close attention to the text.
