This restored Interceptor has formed part of a private collection since 2006. This increasingly rare machine passed its last MOT in May 2015, without any advisories, and has been stored since. Due to its time in storage, the vendor advises giving the motorcycle a check over before submitting it for its next MOT. The Interceptor is ***fitted with belt primary drive and electronic ignition*** and is offered for auction with an original rider's handbook, expired MOTs, receipts and a SORN. V5C, no MOT, tax exempt See illustrations

Lot 38

A 1959 DOT TDHX Trials bike, unregistered, green. Dating from 1959, this TDHX model is a beautiful example of the marque in its prime. It was a subject of a superb nut and bolt restoration by a well known DOT enthusiast, which was completed in 2013. No expense was spared in the restoration which included: engine and gearbox professionally restored by Villiers Services Wolverhampton; frame, tank, and hubs professionally finished by Paintwork Express of Cambridge; rebuilt wheels with new aluminium valenced rims and stainless steel spokes; all bearings and seals were replaced; stainless steel fasteners were used throughout and the seat is trimmed in leather. The attention to detail is exceptional throughout and it remains in excellent condition. Since completion it has formed part of a private collection of pre 65 British trials bikes and has been used for demonstration runs. It has however not been run for around a year, as the vendor has sadly decided his riding days are over, so it would benefit from a routine service and safety checks before use. This is a scarce and historically important motorcycle in excellent condition. Restoration to a similar standard today would cost far more than the guide price and this is a rare opportunity for the collector and classic trials enthusiast. No accompanying paperwork as it is a competition motorcycle not intended for road use. See illustration

Lot 47

A 1957 BSA Bushman Major D3, registration number 955 JTW, frame number CD313428, engine number ED781772, green. This rare BSA was restored by a previous owner. In the current ownership the BSA has been used very sparingly and is only for sale because the vendor has purchased a more modern machine. There is an accompanying history file with previous MOTs, receipts, SORN, handbooks and workshop manuals. RF60, V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustration

Lot 73

A 1929 AJS M1 De-Luxe 996cc V-twin, registration number VP 6618, frame number 61217, engine number 61217, black/pink. In single family ownership since 1964, this extremely rare top of the range M1 De-Luxe was offered for sale in 1929 at an eye watering £76 10s 0d. It comes direct from a private collection of British motorcycles and has formed part of the collection since 1964. Purchased as a restoration project it was restored between 1964 through to 1970 by the vendor's father. The AJS saw regular service until 1995, when it was laid up, before coming out of storage in 2010 and the motorcycle was recommissioned. The engine was re-bored, and new pistons were installed a few years ago, and on our recent visit, the motorcycle started easily from cold and sounded very healthy. Over the previous winter, the vendor has fitted a new clutch, primary and final drive chains, to this end the vendor advises that the clutch will need bedding in and adjusting after a few 100 miles. The vendor describes the AJS as being very original and fully matching numbers. The M1 is offered for auction with an accompanying history file containing photocopies of the original restoration notes, RF60, V5, a previous MOT, receipt and SORNs. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations

The Metisse featured in an eight page article in Classic Bike Guide (issue 153 January 2004). The motorcycle was last MOTd in 2006 and the vendor advises us that the machine is running but will require light recommissioning. The Enfield Metisse is offered for auction with a copy of aforementioned magazine, a Rickman certificate of authenticity, expired MOTs and SORNs. V5, V5C, no MOT See illustrations

MINIATURIST "H. M .S" (ENGLISH, EARLY 18TH CENTURY), A HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT MINIATURE - THE COMPOSER GEORGE FREDERICK HANDEL watercolour on vellum laid on card, signed with initials "H.M.S" and dated 1742 to centre right, titled "Handel" lower edge 9.5cm x 7.5cm (oval) Framed and under glass Label verso: Autograph gifting the piece to "Nancy Kelly, Cork, Nov 3rd., 1935", from the eminent composer Percival Benedict Kahn (1880 - 1966). He was acclaimed as the composer of a 1913 version of "Ave Maria". Above the dedication on the label verso, there is a manuscript annotation of the first three bars, in the composer's hand. Note: It is possible this was painted "from life", as it does not appear to be a copy, or version, of any of the known portraits of Handel done before the date of this one, 1742. This would make it very rare. There is evidence of old water damage to Handel's face on the right side, but in otherwise sound condition.
