Reg Dwight/Elton John A rare acetate of Elton John's first release under his real name, Reg Dwight, the double-sided 7"" mono acetate by Bluesology, 1965, with blue and silver Jackson Recording Studios, Rickmansworth, Herts label, the A-side and B-side with typescript details ""Come Back Baby"", Bluesology and ""Corina Corina"", Bluesology, the acetate in common mount with a copy of the released version of the single Come Back, Baby/Times Are Getting Tougher Than Tough, Fontana, 1965, 45rpm; and three black and white photographs of Bluesology in rehearsal at a hall in North Harrow in 1965 [printed later], two of Reg Dwight singing and playing the piano and one of all five band members, each -- 4x3in. The Beatles A typescript Golden Ball Celebrity Guest List, 18th February, 1965, signed on the verso in pencil by John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr -- 13x8in. 33x20.3cm.). This autographed guest list is extremely interesting as it appears to document a previously unknown performance by The Beatles in February, 1965. Further research with the Daily Mirror archive has revealed that the Golden Ball was organised by the newspaper to celebrate reaching record sales of five million copies per day. The ball was held on Thursday 18th February, 1965 at the Royal Albert Hall, London and tickets went on sale for 25 shillings. The vendor worked for the Daily Mirror in the Publicity Department at the time, and recalls that the Beatles arrived at the Royal Albert Hall to perform a couple of songs on stage with various other artists, and were invited by the Directors of the paper to have a drink in a private room following their performance, which is when she acquired their autographs. The photograph illustrated [not included in this sale] is one of a set of rare and unseen photographs of The Beatles recently uncovered by Mirrorpix.com, and shows The Beatles on stage at the Royal Albert Hall for The Daily Mirror's Golden Ball. The Beatles A rare black and white photograph of The Beatles taken by J. Thorburn Young, circa October, 1964, signed on the front in black ballpoint pen by all four members of the group -- 8 1/2x6 1/2in. (21.6x15.8cm.). This photograph was probably taken at the ABC Cinema in Edinburgh when the Beatles played there on Monday, 19th October, 1964. According to the original vendor, J. Thorburn Young, he obtained the signatures at the Four Seasons Hotel, St. Fillian, Perthshire - it is possible that the Beatles stayed at the hotel either the night before, or the night of the concert at Caird Hall, Dundee, 20th October, 1964.

The Beatles A rare souvenir concert programme Royal Command Performance in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen Mother, Prince Of Wales Theatre, London, Monday, 4th November, 1963, signed inside in blue ballpoint pen next to the group's photograph by John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, additionally signed on separate pages by Hattie Jacques, Teddy Green and the Clark Brothers. These signatures were obtained by the vendor's uncle, Richard Dory, who was Manager of the Prince Of Wales Theatre at the time of the Royal Command Performance.

Dixon did not use any of the illustrations from vol. III of Edwards work.

A LARGE ARTIFICIAL STONE FOUNTAIN BY AUSTIN & SEELEY, CIRCA 1835 Modelled with a merman blowing a conch, seated above the shell basin, supported to the underside by three adorsed dolphins, signed in relief on the rocky outcrop below the Merman AUSTIN & SEELEY, with further indistinct inscription and date 183* 104in. (264cm.) high, 60in. (152.3cm.) wide An article by J.C.Loudon on Austin & Seeley's fountains illustrates this model, this appears to confirm the indistinct dating of the present piece to the mid 1830's. The remains of a fountain by the firm with similar dolphin base stands in the Swiss Garden, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire (see Davis, page 204). The fountain also appears on the cover of the SPECIMEN BOOK OF AUSTIN & SEELEY'S ARTIFICIAL STONE MANUFACTORY, a catalogue of 1844. A line drawing on page 18 of the catalogue lists it: Entwined Dolphin Fountain with Shell and Triton. The fountain was also available with a plain tazza above the dolphins. It is rare to find a signed piece by the company.
