A rare believed Victorian magicians magic trick drinking barrel. Made of chrome plated steel, with holding chain to top. From either end the barrel appears empty. To one end of the inner tube is a secret panel which reveals a sprung spout with various pipework. Operation of the sprung tap is performed by use of a secret switch disguised as a chain bracket. Comes with a 'Dewar's Whisky' brass tap and a slip-over ring. Presumably the trick worked by the magician showing the barrel to be empty, then placing the removable ring (likely with a wooden panel insert) over one end and 'secretly' springing the pipe out of its panel. The brass tap could then be placed into the blank end and liquid produced from the seemingly empty barrel. Measures; 37cm tall.
A rare and original 19th Coalbrookdale 'Fern and Blackberry ' pattern cast iron seat being completre with the rare seat apron. The bench being fully stamped to the rear alogn with diamond registration lozenge. Painted in green with remains of the slatted wooden seat. The bench found in vendors North WIltshire garden having its back rest broken in several parts although it appears to be complete just in need of restoring. The images showing the respective bits tied with twine and placed accordingly.
