A rare limited edition Shell petrol whisky bottle, batched vintage 1964 and released by Signatory Whisky in 1989, 6/30. This bottle is from the Glen Albyn Distillery and purportedly it was a selection drawn from a vatting of cask numbers 942 and 943, these two casks were vatted and released to the general public, with a small subset of bottles labelled for Shell Thermo Plastic Elastomers.

Unusual model with armrests. Childs variation in the V&A museum. Marked Thonet to underside, 102cm x 65cm x 80cm.
A rare and unusual 19th century French Etienne Denamur bisque headed Boissier chocolate box doll, in the form of a child dressed in original 18th century style lace and silk costume, with painted bisque head, jointed arms and bisque hands, wearing a feathered bicorn hat, seated on a hollow shoe, which would hold the confectionery, marked E3D Depose, 32cm high overall. Maison Boissier is a Parisian master confectioner still in operation today
A rare late 19th century Cary ship's navigator's celestial globe, mounted in a brass directional horizon band, within a detachable hemisphere, in a fitted wooden box, with original paper label inside, dated 4th April 1898, stamped Cary, London Patent No. 21540 and inscribed Cary & Co, Makers to the Admiralty, 7 Pall Mall, London, bearing a brass plate to the lid inscribed Lieut H. Stack R N, 22cm wide. A very similar globe is in the Greenwich National Maritime Museum and another bearing the same patent is in the History of Science Museum, Oxford

A rare 19c ladies kidney shaped writing table by Gillow of Lancaster. The top veneered with panels of amboyna inlaid with ebony and sycamore. It has a single frieze drawer and raised on turned and tapered supports. United by a crescent shaped veneered shelf which has a panel of thuya wood, banded with ebony and sycamore enclosed by a pierced brass gallery. Decorated throughout with fancy brass mounts and beadings and supported on turned tapered and fluted legs with original castors. Stamped Gillow on edge of drawer, 108cm w, 74cm h.
MAKUZO KOZAN; a fine and rare Japanese Meiji period Satsuma koro in the form of a yoroi bitsu (Samurai armour storage box) with the kabuto forming the lid, signed with oval impressed seal to base. A rare 9th/10th century Javanese carved volcanic stone figure of Durga (Mahisasuramardini), height 45cm. Provenance: From a private collection in the South West of England. Additional InformationAs you can imagine with a piece of this age there are areas of heavy dirty inset throughout, rubbing to the raised parts. The face retains good definition which is not as strong is other areas but overall for a piece of this age in very good condition.
JOHN PRESTON, LONDON; a rare late 18th century cittern, stamped 'Preston Maker London' to back of neck, with 'watch key' tuners, tortoiseshell fingerboard, length 70cm (for restoration). A very similar example can be seen in the National Trust Snowshill Manor and Garden Collection, Gloucestershire, reference NT1335351.Additional InformationThis rare instrument has extensive damage including dents, splits and cracks to back and side. The earlier issues lithographed, the later ones engraved, caricature & comic illus. & text throughout, the latter issues each conclude with a letterpress final leaf. Folio. In orig. boards interleaved with blanks (visible professional repair to backstrip, tending to split internally at hinge, ownership inscription to paste-down dated Madeira, 1834). Label to upper board "Heath's Comic Looking Glass or Mirror of Mirth ... Price Twenty-Five Shillings in Boards". (There is some debate regarding the extent of William Heath's involvement with indications that he did not participate until issue no. 10; as early as issue 7, the publisher was advertising that complete sets could be hand on application). A pioneering publication & generally accepted as THE WORLD'S FIRST PUBLISHED COMIC with those famous words "to be continued" first used as early as issue 2. Very rare & few in private hands. Published by "John Watson, Lithographic Press, 169 George St. (Glasgow) - Hints taken, ideas illustrated and fancies illuminated". June 11th 1825 to February 20th 1826. (The final issue was reached soon afterwards, 3rd April 1826).
