A rare late 18th or early 19th century porcelain blue and white colander, lacks rim.

Lot 811

Designed by John Pollard Seddon. A very rare Victorian Fulham Pottery - C.J.C. Bailey (1864-1888) salt glaze, stoneware vase with mountain ash moulded decoration, scroll handles and on an octagonal foot, with its lid and one original bud shape stopper. Height including lid 30.5cm. Impressed C.J.C.B. Fulham and 1877 J.P.S. to the base. (See illustration) Note: The drawing for this vase is in the V&A collection. Condition Report: Missing all but one stopper, which seems to have been glued into place. Cover substantially warped, with a few small chips to the rim, largest 1cm across. A few very small chips to the body itself to the applied decoration on the base. No obvious integral flaws, restoration or substantial damage.

A rare documentary Leach Pottery Michael Cardew jug. The red body incised through slip 'Bessie Stevens 1926', impressed seal marks, height 12cm. Provenance: Bessie Stevens was the granddaughter of a close friend of Hamada 'Old Bassett' (Thomas). They fished together and this jug was made to celebrate the birth of his granddaughter. (See illustration) Condition Report: Crazing around join of handle, good condition.
