The second volume has illustrations only (not in this lot). Striking lay-out and typography, with one page for each artist featuring a biography and vivid descriptions of the exhibited works. Essay by David Antin, bibliography in rear. Artists include Dennis Oppenheim, Robert Smithson, Michael Heizer, Douglas Huebler, Donald Burgy, Dan Graham, Hans Haacke, Allen Kaprow, Richard Serra, Alan Sonfist and many others. White portfolio with die cut wrapper, holding 2 loose text sheets, 20 paginated artists contributions printed black on thick white sheets, 1 colophon sheet and a cellophane sheet printed with title information and names of the participants. Catalogue/artists' book for the first international exhibition of conceptual art in Yugoslavia curated by Braco and Nena Dimitrijevic. The couple invited fellow artists they had met during their travels through Europe, to submit works for an exhibition in two parts. A 3 hour exhibition in an apartment in Zagreb in March 1971 (documented in film and photos by Enes Midžic, Vladimir Petek and Mladen Stilinovic), and a follow-up exhibition at the Student Center in Belgrade held in short time blocks from 15 September to 3 October 1971. The participants were representatives of the blooming international art scene and included: Giovanni Anselmo, Robert Barry, stanley brouwn, Daniel Buren, Victor Burgin, Jan Dibbets, Braco Dimitrijevic, ER Group, Barry Flanagan, Douglas Huebler, Alain Kirili, Jannis Kounellis, John Latham, KOD Group, Sol LeWitt, OHO Group, Goran Trbuljak, Lawrence Weiner and Ian Wilson. The exhibition that took place at Galerie nächst St. Stephan in Vienna was intended to provide 'an overview of female sensitivity, imagination, projection, and problems, suggested by a tableau of pictures, objects, photos, lectures, discussions, readings, films, video tapes and actions.' Artists included Hilde Absalon, Renate Bertlmann, Valie Export, Birgit Jürgenssen, Maria Lassnig, Friederike Pezold, Dorothy Iannone, Rebecca Horn, Ulrike Rosenbach and Katharina Sieverding et al. Artist's book produced in conjunction with Ruppersberg's installation 'Al's Grand Hotel' in which the artist converted a two-floor craftsman house in Hollywood into a functional hotel with seven themed rooms. The 'catalog' lists the items in the various rooms that are for sale, such as a blue neon sign 'Al's Grand Hotel', a wedding cake from the Bridal Suite, 7 life size photo cut-outs of the artists ($ 100 each) and a restaurant booth with plates, menus etc. from the Breakfast room. Covers and interior sheets show age toning (as is usual with this item), small abrasion on back cover. Generally a good copy. Rare.

Deventer, Stichting Octopus, 1970. Block calendar in 2 parts with four flip-book style pads, containing 19 photographic plates on top part and text plates on bottom, all tipped on board. 19 x 24 cm. A fold-out cardboard holder on the rear allows the calendar to be displayed standing up. Includes original mailing envelope from Stichting Octopus. Beautiful rare artists' publication by renowned Dutch conceptual artist van Elk (1941-2014). The calendar states only weekdays and whether the period is warm or cold. The photographic plates feature sequences of stills from 'How van Elk inflates his left foot with his right one', 1969 and 'The well-shaven cactus', 1970. In good condition.

Self-published, Los Angeles, 1970. Softcover, 19 x 19 cm, 48 pp. Edition size unknown. Fall contains two photographic sequences, composed of 11 images each, from the artists' films 'Fall 1, Los Angeles', and 'Fall 2, Amsterdam'. The former begins with Ader seated in a straight-backed chair on the roof of his house and the latter sees the artist cycling into the canal in one of his most recognizable actions. Extremely rare artists publication by the legendary Ader (1942-1975) who mysteriously disappeared while crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a small boat in 1975. Cover with very light wear, otherwise in supreme condition.

The book features 21 directional indications, such as 'walk 95 m in the direction of la paz, walk 11 m in the direction of rangoon, walk 4 m in the direction of madrid'. Very good copy, rare.

Unique scrapbook, only one copy made. This is the extended version of Ruhé’s comprehensive chronology published in 2005, with additional material up to brouwn's death in 2017. White plastic ringbinder, 32 x 27.5 x 7 cm. Contains ca. 150 sheets with (tipped in) b/w and colour illustrations, housed in transparent ringbinder sleeves. This copy contains reproductions of invitations and newspaper articles, all reproduced in full size, photographs, letters sent by brouwn to Ben Vautier (1963-64), and a rare article about a 1976 Brouwn exhibition at the Van Abbemuseum which was (covertly) co-written by the artist. Also added is the French periodical Revue Faire with a special issue dedicated to stanley brouwn's invitation cards. Superb reference material, in mint state.

The artist's first monographical publication, published on occasion of the exhibition and action held at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Zagreb from Oct 14-22 1974. Text by Davor Maticevic in English and Croatian. Shown are full page b/w images and descriptions of several performances from Abramovic's Rhythm series (1973-1974) in which she tested the mental and physical limitations of her own body. Among the performances are Rhythm 0, in which she offered herself as an object of experimentation for the audience, as well as Rhythm 5, where she lay in the centre of a burning five-point star to the point of losing consciousness. Rare book in near mint condition.

Boxed exhibition catalogue with an embossed print by the artist. Limited edition numbered 372/660. White cardboard box, 20.5 x 16 x 2.5 cm, with title printed in black on top and side of the lid. Contains an embossed print on thick handmade paper, 19.2 x 15.1 cm, which is kept between a folded sheet with the inscription 'Prägedruck'. Also includes a colophon and 34 numbered offset printed leaves, featuring thick boards with b/w illustrations alternated with folded sheets featuring essays or b/w images. Texts by Johannes Cladders, Klaus Honnef, Jean Leering, Hans van der Grinten, Walter Kambartel and Jan Schoonhoven. Lower lid has some mild staple stains, upper lid shows moderate sunning and small bends. The print features slight brown spotting on the lower right margin of the work (within an area of 2 x 0.5 cm) as well as spotting along the top right outer edge, not affecting the embossment itself. Generally a fine beautiful copy. Rare.

Reykjavik/Amsterdam, Silver Press, 1972. Exquisite and extremely rare book object, signed and numbered by the artist. Softcover, 26.4 x 27.2 x 2.2 cm. Offset printed in a limited edition of 150 signed and numbered copies, this one numbered 17/150, hand bound by the artist. The book was self-published by Gudmundsson's Silver Press. As the production was very time consuming, probably no more than 30- 50 copies were made (ref: Kees van Gelder, Amsterdam). In 1982 Ottenhausen Verlag in Aachen and Munich published a follow up limited edition of 100 copies. The immense artists' book (more than 600 pp.) features full page drawings of multiple horizontal lines throughout. The length of all lines added up together indicate the distance between the highest point on earth and the lowest point in the sea. Light corners bumps, generally a very good copy.

Black cloth hardcover, 41 x 32.5 x 2 cm, approx. 400 pp. Large format artists' book with full page xerox-type images, featuring designs for various tools to clean or smoke fish, such as feathers, barbecues, smoke ovens, as well as sketches and reproductions of works from 1975 to 1978. The opening page reads 'During the last four years I made fishermens medicaments and photographs of catching and cleaning processes. I designed smoke ovens and barbecues'. The book also presents documentation related to Giezen's project for the Venice Biennale in 1978 (representing The Netherlands), a collaborative endeavour with Venetian fishermen. Extremely rare publication by Dutch artist Krijn Giezen (1939 - 2011), pioneer in Ecological and Conceptual art. In very good state.
