1988 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera TargaRegistration no. F197 MLLChassis no. WP0ZZZ91ZJS141127Odometer reading: 85,000 MOT Expiry: December 2021 *Sought after Carrera 3.2 G50 Targa*Low warranted mileage*Touring Spec*Large history file with Porsche service history Beautiful example of one of the greatest air cooled 911s. From a private collection this Porsche 3.2 Targa has been impeccably maintained and cherished by enthusiast owners from new. The car itself is also fairly unique, as it was specified from new in December 1988 as a 'Touring Specification'.More discreet, it contrasts to the much more common 'spoilers and flares' 'bankers bonus cars' if the late eighties. This non-sport specification includes the deletion of the front spoiler and whale tail boot lid, and includes the very rare 15' Fuch alloy wheels with slightly higher price tyres. The car is in an excellent condition, and the Guards Red paintwork still presents beautifully. The 3.2-litre flat-six engine has also been carefully maintained with a full Porsche specialist service history, and is paired with the improved G50 five-speed gearbox. This, combined with the electric black leather seats and 15' Fuch alloy wheels really give a sense comfort, but with no impact on the cars impressive performance. This example was also featured in 911 and Porsche World Magazine in 2014 where Specialist Porsche JournalistJohnny Tipler said: ' it has the best ride quality because of its tall tyres and 15-inch rims', thus proving that this combination strikes the ideal balance that's rare in a 911 of this era. The mileage is also relatively low at 85,000 miles, and there is a large history file that includes a fully stamped service book, original handbook package and kit. The original non-spoiler boot lid is also available with the car. This is a rare and stunning example ready to enjoy To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 97/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupé ProjectRegistration no. 7806 UKChassis no. 860418Odometer reading: 13,816MOT: Exempt*Early Series I rolling project*Matching numbers*Structurally sound*Ideal for restorationFootnotes:Ever since its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, the Jaguar E-Type has made headlines around the world for not just its sheer beauty, but also its effortless performance. Its design has been described as perfect from every angle, and it harks back to an era long before safety regulation had an impact on car design. Its faired-in headlights, centred twin exhausts, independent rear suspension and all-round disc brakes were thought to be revolutionary features for a sports car at the time. With a price tag of just £2,250 (approximately £42,000 in today's money), the E-Type was also astonishingly good value, and as a result it was a great success for Jaguar. Presented is a rare opportunity to acquire an early 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Fixed Head Coupe. Sold as a project, the car has been in storage for approximately 15-20 years and will require a full restoration. The mileage is remarkably low as a result, and the odometer shows just 13,816 miles. It's also reported to be moveable, and there is air in the tyres (the brakes are not seized). Sadly there is little history with the car bar its original buff logbook, however it comes from single ownership since 1971. It was originally finished in Gunmetal grey but was resprayed in the 1960s prior to the present vendors ownership to the current purple colour that you see today. Structurally the car is in good condition and is remarkably solid, however there is some rust appearing in places, such as on the NSR wheel arche and rear window surround. This is a matching numbers vehicle.Vendor Score Total: 26/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1998 Isuzu TrooperRegistration no. M671 GGCChassis no. UBS69GW7250269Odometer reading: 256,769MOT: September 2021*Solid example*Japanese Import*Bighorn modelFootnotes:Completely redesigned for 1991 and in production until 2002, the second generation Isuzu Trooper has a well-known reputation for being a dependable and rugged off-road vehicle. This 1998 example is a higher spec Bighorn model and has been imported from Japan. The Bighorns in particular are more desirable as they come equipped with the higher powered 3.1-litre diesel engine, and this example also features the rare Lotus handling pack. Troopers were once a common sight on UK roads however they are now much rarer. This is a useable example that is remarkably solid and in good working order.Vendor Score Total: 60/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1953 Jaguar MKVII SaloonRegistration no. 899 YUYChassis no. 717350Odometer reading: 87,234MOT: Exempt *Low mileage MKVII*Good history*Australian importTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Produced between 1950 and 1956, the Jaguar MKVII was the company's flagship luxury saloon. It featured the same chassis as the MKV, however it had an all-new body that was more streamlined with its integrated headlights, two piece windscreen and large overhang. The MKVII was powered by the same 3.4-litre straight-six engine that featured in the XK and produced 160hp, however this was later increased to 190hp in later models. This 1953 example was purchased new at Brylan Motors in Melbourne, Australia, where it remained until it was imported into the UK in 2013. Overall, it is in good condition and the Pastal blue exterior and blue leather interior both present well. Inside, the car features a Jaguar XJ6 manual gearbox with overdrive, and also has a rare sunroof and tool kit in the driver's door. This is a low mileage example that has only 87,234 miles from new. There is also good history with the car, however it has not been used since 2019. It will require recommissioning before being put to active use.Vendor Score Total: 66/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1963 Ford Thunderbird CoupeRegistration no. AAB 976AChassis no. 3Y83Z134675Odometer reading: 94,000MOT Expiry: Exempt*60s Ford Thunderbird*Runs and driving well*Well presentedAlong with the Mustang, the Thunderbird is one of Ford's most desirable models. The car's life spanned eleven generations and was one of the company's most successful models. The Thunderbird was produced in a range of body styles, including coupe, convertible, and sedan – all with varying seating arrangements. The third generation Thunderbird was introduced in 1961 and spanned a 3 year production run, and was only produced in 2-door coupe and 2-door convertible variants. American cars from this era were incredibly innovative, and the Thunderbird is no exception to that with its swing away steering wheel and floating rear view mirror. This example is a 1963 model that's in a good condition. The car is presented in a dark maroon/purple colour scheme with white contrast roof that matches well with the cream leather interior. The bodywork, paint and chrome and all in a good condition, but the car could be brought up to a higher standard if desired. The car is running and driving and as it should, and has only 94,000 miles on the odometer. Ford Thunderbirds are rare in the UK, and this car comes with a good history file with various documentation of its past. A lovely unique car that represents a time gone by.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 83/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1957 Jensen 541S CoupéRegistration no. 883 UYSChassis no. 5411793197Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt *Rare Jensen 541S*Good history file*Previously restored*Sold for recommissioningTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Jensen 541S was a luxurious variation of the 541 and is a beautiful and rare GT. Powered by either a 4.0-litre Austin straight-six engine or 5,353cc Chrysler V8, the 541R also had lightweight construction, and thus performed exceptionally well with its four-speed manual gearbox. This combination is thought to have suited the car with its luscious interior and powerful engine, making longer journeys almost effortless. It is believed that only 127 541Ss were made, and as a result the car is now exceptionally rare. This 1957 example is an original UK car equipped with the 4.0-litre Austin engine, and is known to have spent much of its time in South Africa. There's a large history file with the car that shows its ownership by a single family between 1982 and 2016. It is an older, restored example and it's believed to have been restored whilst in South Africa. Its original registration number is also noted as UVR 541. Overall, the exterior and interior are in good order but could be brought up to a higher standard. The engine is also reported to be running and driving, but following a period of inactivity, recommissioning is recommended prior to returning the car to active use. The history file includes various Jensen books, old bills and expired MOTs.Vendor Score Total: 61/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Sadly Rover closed its doors for good in 2005, and the Streetwise was one of the last new cars that the company ever produced. Streetwises are now a rare sight on the road, and this 2004 example is in a good overall condition. There is no history bar the original owners handbook and wallet. The 1.4-litre engine is reported to be running and driving well, however it has been unused since 2017. This 1999 example is in good condition overall. The silver paint and bodywork both present well, and are both thought to be a period colour combination with the black leather interior. The car has a high specification and features the factory sports suspension with shock absorbers as well as a Porsche sports exhaust. It also features a 6-speed manual gearbox for added driver engagement. Unfortunately there is little history with the car (bar the original drivers handbook), but the 3.4-litre flat-six engine is reported to be running and driving well. It is believed that this is one of only 26 factory right-hand drive cars, and is neither an engine or AMG swap but an original C55 with AMG 'birth certificate' and data sheet to verify. All the AMG specific parts are untouched and original including the speedometer, grille, exhaust, differential and (most importantly) its M113 5.4-litre V8. Many new parts have been fitted for general maintenance and repairs including its front brakes (rotors and pads), front wheel bearings, tie rods, headlamps and fog lamps. It has also had a recent full service with new spark plugs and valve cover gaskets. Finished in silver with a black leather interior, the car is in an excellent condition. This is a UK example and is certainly one of the rarest AMG vehicles on the market. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

It also uses the same Performance Traction Management system, active damping and rear differential as the Corvette, and a 10-speed automatic gearbox that's shared with the Ford F150 Raptor. The brakes are also significantly larger, which is lucky as the ZL1 has a 0-60mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a reported top speed of 173mph. This Blue Hyper example is a 2017 car that has a low mileage of just 6,900 miles. The exterior and black suede interior is still in excellent condition, and the supercharged V8 is said to be performing well and it should. The vendor has stated that an upgraded air intake and supercharger pulley has been fitted, both of which lift the power up to 750hp. The originals are still available to return the car to stock if preferred. These ZL1 Camaros are rare in the UK, and this is a unique opportunity to purchase a vehicle that is already on the road and ready to be driven.Footnotes:*750hp Camaro ZL1*Upgraded intake & supercharger pulley*Low mileageThe ZL1 Camaro is the ultimate version of Chevrolet's iconic muscle car, and is powered by the same 6.2-litre Supercharged V8 that's found in the Corvette Z06. These are fun cars that are now becoming quite rare, and this is a good honest example. Overall the car is solid, but there is no history available. The vendor informs us that the mileage is genuine and low at just 50,343 miles. It has been off the road and unused since 2018, so recommissioning is recommended. 1931 Austin Seven (Crank Handle Cabriolet)Coachwork by TickfordRegistration no. FO 2847Chassis no. 141590Odometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A *Rare coach-built Tickford example*Restored in 1990 and recently in 2014*Detailed service historyFootnotes:The Austin 7 was a revolutionary car not just for the British automotive market but also for the company itself. Produced between 1922 and 1939, the 7 was Austin's first small car and sold in record numbers. Once production had wound up in 1939 over 290,000 had been sold, completely changing British car market and outselling many of its competitors. This 1931 Seven is an exceptionally rare coach-built Tickford example and is presented in very good overall condition. Two restorations have been undertaken during its lifetime, once in 1990 and again in 2014. The engine has also been completely rebuilt and now features a Phoenix crankshaft and high compression cylinder head. This is a well maintained example that includes a detailed, hand written service history. The wheels and tyres are also in good condition and have plenty of tread, with recent works including renewed front brakes and a new starter ring gear fitted. Overall this is a lovely well-cared for example and it is believed that there are only a handful of Tickford built Sevens left, so this is an opportunity not to be missed.Vendor Score Total: 73/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 2000 Mini CooperRegistration no. X892 DBAChassis no. SAXXNRAZEYD183534Odometer reading: 17,400 milesMOT Expiry: April 2022*Genuine UK car*Exceptional low mileage *Fresh MOTThe Rover Mini was the final take on the iconic Alec Issigonis designed car, and the last original Mini to be produced. Officially known as the Mark VII, the Rover Mini offered features not seen before in the car, such as a driver's side airbag, side impact protection beams, and additional sound insulation. These features, including revised front seats, arguably made the Mark VII the most comfortable and usable version of the classic Mini. This 2000 Tahiti blue example was originally supplied new by Lookers Wilmslow to a Mr Brian Wolfe of Cheadle on 9th Sept 2000. The car comes with a large history file, which states that Lookers gave the car its first service in 2001. Mepglow Mini then carried out the servicing in 2004, 2005 and 2006 up to a mileage 8,505 miles. Royles Motor Group then serviced the car in 2017 at 16,000 miles. The car was purchased by the vendor in April 2019 from Richard Williams Classic Minis Ltd, and the mileage is now 17,400. Forming part of a private collection, this example is in a truly excellent condition. The bodywork, paint, interior all present well. The engine starts and runs as it should and will be driven to the auction by the vendor. This is a lovely, low mileage example that is increasingly rare to find in this condition. Produced between 1991 and 2003, the 106 was once a common sight on the road, however today they are a much rarer sight. This 1996 example has been used sparingly throughout its lifetime with only three lady owners from new. It is reported that the second owner owned the car from 1998 to 2014 and covered just 7,000 miles. It was then purchased as a present by the current owner's father and now has a mileage showing just 30,790 miles. Inside and out the car is very original and is in a good condition. 2001 Honda InsightRegistration no. X885 DJRChassis no. The Insight was in fact the first hybrid vehicle to go on sale in Europe, and is also known to have one of the lowest drag coefficients of any production car at 0.25.This 2001 Insight is a well looked after example that has only three owners from new, the second of which owned the car from April 2003 until June 2016. The current owner has owned the car ever since and has maintained it to a very high standard. The car's impeccable service record is proof of this, with over 70 receipts showing approximately £30,000 spent on maintenance over its lifetime (£7,000 of which has been spent by the current owner). These maintenance items include a new 144-volt IMA battery from Honda in 2013, a new catalytic converter in 2020 (following a failed sensor), and a full respray in 2016. Cosmetically, the car is in a very good condition inside and out and has been shown at numerous events including the Beaulieu Simply Japanese Show in 2016 and the Fully Charged Show at Silverstone in 2019. These early hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly appreciated in the market, and as such there is a band of UK enthusiasts. WVWZZZ19ZGW658595Odometer reading: 89,000MOT Expiry: 20/06/2022*Low mileage Pirelli edition*Good condition*Running and driving wellFootnotes:The MK2 Golf GTI was a worthy successor to the MK1 GTI. Not only did it look good with its bold 80s styling, but it also retained the classic GTI features that were popular in the MK1, such as the red detailing and golf ball styled gear knob. The MK2 was also larger and thus more practical than its predecessor, but it also had improved performance and better handling. This 1986 example is a rare Pirelli edition model that is often distinguished by its unique Pirelli 'P slot' alloy wheels. Cosmetically the car is in a good condition, and the inside also presents very well. There is little history with the car however it has been well looked after and is largely original. It also has a relatively low mileage of 89,000 miles. Many Golf GTIs of this era have been extensively modified and have a much higher mileage, so an example such as this with good history, is becoming increasingly hard to come by.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Homologated in 1961 with a 997 Ford pre-crossflow engine, GSM Darts were raced throughout the 1960s in numerous international events in the UK and South Africa. This included class and outright wins in the 9 hour endurance at Kylami and holding the Brands Hatch short circuit class record for a number of years. This 1964 Dart is one of the later South African built cars with the 1500cc pre-crossflow Cortina engine, front disc brakes and a removable hard top. Originally registered in South Africa in 1964, (as certified by the GSM Car Club of South Africa) it was subsequently modified and re-registered 1986. The car was imported to the UK and registered with MOT here in April 2001. The current owner acquired the car in June 2009 as a project for historic racing, and between 2009 and 2011 spent approximately £25,000 on restoring the car for race preparation. A new build 1500cc Ford pre-cross flow engine on twin 40DCO Weber Carburettors was installed, and a rolling road test showed 118bhp at the wheels (approx. 135bhp at flywheel). Complete with 2000E gear box and extensive chassis and suspension work, the car awaits completion by the next owner. Overall, the car is in a good condition and starts and runs well.Vendor Score Total: 62/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1958 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Roadster ProjectRegistration no. PJL 640JChassis no. 5820014Odometer reading: 96,992MOT: Exempt*Rare XK150 project car*Many original spare parts included*Good historyFootnotes:Launched in 1957, the Jaguar XK150 was the third and final iteration of the XK series, following on from the XK120 and XK140. Available as both a fixed-head coupé or a drophead coupé, the XK150 featured updated styling and various mechanical improvements, including four-wheel disc brakes. The car was launched with a 210bhp 3.4-litre straight-six engine that propelled the car to 60mph in just 7.6 seconds. It could also reach a top speed of 130mph, which was an incredible feat for a roadster at the time. This 1958 'barn find' example is an original right-hand drive vehicle that was exported to Cycle & Carriage Co. in Singapore on 15 December 1958. It is then known to have returned to the UK in 1971. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to purchase a project vehicle that comes with many spare parts and its original engine. The parts include the original jack and spanner, three Jaguar spanners, a prop shaft, and various other items. There is also the original hood, spare wheel, rear bumper, two wings and the tool board. A heritage certificate and vehicle information sheet is also included, as is the original service handbook and spare keys. The mileage is recorded at 96,992. The present owner intended on getting the vehicle restored but is sadly selling due to ill health. There is enormous potential on offer. A rare opportunity.Vendor Score Total: 20/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1990 Citroen 2CV6 SpecialRegistration no. 22 TTJ 75Chassis no. VF7AZKA00KA372339Odometer reading: 377kmsMOT Expiry: N/A*Immaculate 'as new' 2CV*Incredible low mileage of just 377 kms*French specification*One of the last to be produced To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Citroen 2CV is one of the most recognisable cars in the world, and is also one of the most successful French cars to be ever be produced. Today, it is as sought after as it has ever been, and it's a classic that's known for its incredible versatility and charm. This 1990 car is a very rare time capsule example with only 377 kilometres from new, and it also has a very interesting backstory to match. On a rainy day in October 1990, the vendor was on a flying visit to London and happened by chance to be in Berkeley Square. A sudden storm appeared, which quickly drove him to shelter in a Citroën showroom, where he got talking to Julian, a sales representative. To repel Julian's suspicion that he was only there to avoid the rainfall, the vendor conjured up a diversion to lambast him about Citroen's decision to cease production of the 2CV (which the vendor already owned a 1986 example). Julian then swiftly replied with a polite yet defensive justification, and apologised. However, it was after this that Julian then conceded that: 'if you're really interested, we are agents for the few still available, all left hand drive.'This limited availability seemed to make all difference, and the vendor then proceeded to quickly place his order. A week later, the vendor then collected his car in question from Calais, drove it onto the ferry to Dover, and then smiled all the way to his mother-in-law's large, dry garage near Oxford before flying back to Italy (where the vendor lived at the time). On their next trip to England, the vendor trailed it to The Tin Snail Company in Worthing for Waxoiling, then trailed back to Oxford where it remained unused only because unexpectedly, the vendor moved from Italy to the USA.While there, an idea matured that upon the car's 25th birthday, it could be imported into the USA and be sold there without needing to comply with EPA and DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). But upon that milestone, the enthusiasm for the sale diminished. As a result the vendor now feels that the car is too precious to use casually, and has now decided to list it for sale – leaving it for someone else to either use, cherish, or place in a museum. This is a truly immaculate example, with the bodywork, paintwork, interior and engine bay all presenting in an 'as new' and excellent condition. This is a very rare opportunity to own a pristine, low mileage 2CV that comes with a unique and interesting backstory to match.Vendor Score Total: 100/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. A Rare and Early Brass Striking Lantern Clock, signed Richard Beck at Ye French Church, Londini, circa 1655, four posted case with shield and scroll pierced engraved frets, front fret signed Richard Beck at ye French Church Londini, turned finials, 6-1/2-inch Roman numeral chapter ring, floral engraved dial centre, central alarm disc, single wrought iron hand, two train 30-hour movement with a crown wheel verge escapement and large balance wheel, countwheel striking on a top mounted bell, (alarm work missing), 39cm high see illustrations Richard Beck was born in about 1632 and is first recorded as apprenticed in May 1646 through the Clockmakers' Company to John Selwood. After Selwood's death in 1651, Beck was transferred to carry on his apprenticeship under Thomas Loomes until 1653. Richard's short working life was around six years and his work produced in this time cannot therefore have been made in great numbers. Only a handful of lantern clocks by Richard Beck is known today, and these clocks are signed in slightly varying ways but generally 'near ye French Church' or 'at ye French Church'. These were all made as balance wheel examples, as the pendulum did not appear till 1658. Richard Beck produced fine clocks with excellent engraved dials. Tragically his brief life as a young clockmaker who flourished during the Civil War came to an end when he died in 1659 at a young age of twenty-seven. 22.04.21 The brass surfaces are discoloured and nicely aged, side brass doors are missing, back wrought iron panel is missing, alarm work is missing, back left hand side foot with a small crack which is probably a casting crack, movement is dirty and the iron work is discoloured with small rust marks in places, back left hand finial with a small crack to its base, dial with wax missing to the numerals, dial is discoloured, alarm disc is now a dummy and has no alarm work, hand is slightly rusty and has a small split near the end, movement in going order, with one weight.

1972 Honda CL350 Transmission: paddleMileage:6015The Honda CL350 was a four-stroke air cooled 350cc with a five-speed transmission motorcycle built between 1968 and 1973. The CL designation indicated this model to be the ‘Scrambler’ version which implied some off-road capability (prior to actual dirt-bikes gaining popularity). They were actually street bikes with a higher rear mudguard, a braced handlebar, and a high-mount exhaust. This rare Honda is presented in very nice condition and runs well according to the vendor. It was imported from the USA in 2017 and has formed part of a small private collection of cars and bikes.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 114

1989 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Transmission: automaticMileage:67584The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of saloon vehicles manufactured from September 1979 as the successor to the earlier W116 line, the W126 being the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz flagship to officially bear the S-Class name referring to Sonderklasse or ‘special class’. The W126 was initially offered in straight six, V8, and turbo diesel saloon models. Compared to its predecessor, the W126 was more aerodynamic, fuel efficient, capacious, and more powerfully engined. The W126 range also introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations including the first airbag (supplemental restraint systems), seatbelt pre-tensioners, and traction control. The W126 had a twelve-year production run between 1979 and 1991, the longest of any S-Class generation since the flagship models were first built in the mid-1950’s.This delightful Mercedes-Benz was originally registered on 13th January 1989 and has covered 67,584 miles in its 32 years on British roads. The light blue coachwork is in very good order and the contrasting dark blue velour interior virtually unmarked. Clearly a very well cared for example, this 300 SE comes from the era when Mercedes-Benz were building cars that would seemingly last forever. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 1st February 2022, with only three previous keepers these W126 models are becoming increasingly rare-particularly in this condition.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 127

1978 Bentley T2 Transmission: automaticMileage:52852The Bentley T-Series was the Bentley badged version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, available as a four or two-door saloon with coachwork by James Young or Mulliner Park Ward. The Bentley differed from its Rolls-Royce equivalent by its more rounded front grille while the badging on the wheel covers, boot lid and gauges naturally featured Bentley motifs. In October 1966, the ‘T’ saloon's pre-tax 'list price' of £5,375 undercut the Rolls-Royce by £50! The Bentley was technically an identical twin of the Rolls-Royce and seemed to have been purchased mostly by owners wishing for a more understated luxury saloon. This magnificent example presents well in the extremely popular colour of Caribbean blue, this is contrasted with blue leather front seats and blue velour rear seats. This difference in materials was apparently the request of the first owner’s wife who preferred the warm feel of velour when being chauffeur driven. The condition of this rare Bentley is extremely good. Not surprising when the file that accompanies the car shows restoration invoices between 2017 and 2018 totalling an eye watering £33,800. Works included a bare metal respray, rewiring to ensure correct working of switches and dials and the fitment of a new air conditioning unit which we are reliably informed blows ice cold air on request. We are also told that this Bentley is a joy to drive and that he has recently spent £1445 on servicing. A letter from the Bentley Drivers Club dated 2018 is present and suggests a valuation for insurance of £32,500 which also makes us believe that this wonderful example is sensibility estimated. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, the only reason for sale is an unexpected move by the vendor who says he will miss this Bentley very much. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 128

1967 Ford Cortina Mk. II 1500GT Crayford Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:64226The second incarnation of the Cortina was designed by Roy Haynes and launched on 18th October 1966, four years after the original Cortina. Although the launch was accompanied by the slogan 'New Cortina is more Cortina', the car, at 16' long, was fractionally shorter than before. Its 2½ inches of extra width and curved side panels provided more interior space. Other improvements included a smaller turning circle, softer suspension, self-adjusting brakes and clutch, together with the availability on the smaller-engined models, of a new five-bearing, 1300cc engine. A month later, in August, the 1300 received a new crossflow cylinder head design making it more efficient, while a crossflow 1600 replaced the 1500. The Cortina was Britain's most popular new car in 1967, achieving the goal that Ford had been trying to achieve since it set out to create the original Cortina back in 1962. Period reviews were favourable concerning both the styling and performance. Again, two-door and four-door saloons were offered with base, Deluxe, Super, GT and, later, 1600E trims available. Originally registered on 11th August 1967, this Mk. II Cortina is one of only seven pre-crossflow Crayford convertibles. With Mk. II 1500GT numbers remaining in single figures, this could well be the only Crayford convertible left making this a rare opportunity to purchase a piece of motoring history. Full photographic evidence is available of the restoration and the car presents in very good order throughout. The mileage of 64,226 miles is thought to be correct but not warranted. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document, a full year’s MoT test certificate and a history file. With classic Fords being in huge demand of late, this Cortina 1500GT is highly desirable in its own right; add to that the Crayford conversion and we expect this exceptionally rare stylish Ford to create significant interest. Why not enjoy the summer months in an instantly recognisable classic.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 131

1958 BMW Isetta 600 Transmission: manualMileage:30825The BMW 600 is a four-seater microcar produced by the German automaker from mid-1957 until November 1959. Partially based on the BMW Isetta two-seater, it was BMW's first post-war, four-seater, economy car and it began the design process for its more successful successor, the BMW 700. BMW needed to expand its model range, but they did not have the resources to develop an all-new car with an all-new engine. Therefore, it used the Isetta as starting point for a new four seat economy car. As a result, the 600 used the front suspension and front door of the Isetta. The need to carry four people required a longer frame, a different rear suspension and a larger engine. The rear suspension was an independent semi trailing arm design; this was the first time BMW had used this system and the chassis had a wheelbase of just 1,700 millimetres. The 600 was powered by the 582cc flat-twin engine from the R67 motorcycle/sidecar combination. This engine, which delivered 19.5 horsepower was mounted behind the rear wheels. Access to the rear seats was by a conventional door on the right side of the vehicle and a four-speed manual gearbox was standard, while a Saxomat semi-automatic transmission was available and the 600 had a top speed of approximately 100 km/h if you were brave!Offered in original but importantly complete and running condition, this very rare Isetta 600 was imported from California and as such has an excellent chassis and body for a cosmetic restoration. Running and driving with a reconditioned 582cc engine, the 600 is a micro car that combines chic urban motoring with the ability to carry four passengers and retains the front opening door for the driver as per the smaller Isetta 300. This 600 is now UK registered and with examples in the UK incredibly sparse, we think this is an ideal opportunity to put your stamp on what is a desirable and collectable BMW which when completed would likely fetch double the pre-auction estimate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 134

1983 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:45644The Mercedes-Benz SL (Sport Leicht) has been in production since 1954 with perhaps the most influential model being the W113 Pagoda of 1963. This second generation evolved from the 230 SL to 250 SL, finally becoming the 280 SL. The W113 was replaced by the W107 in 1971 and as the engines became larger, the bodywork and weight of the cars also increased, as so often happens in mid-life! The SL improved through the years with technical innovation but still managed to keep its fundamental character and identity of an up-market, high quality sports car. Its reputation went from strength to strength and it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without an SL making a star appearance. The impressive soft-top mechanism which folds down out of sight under a panel ahead of the boot lid gave the car a beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. Of all the engine offerings the 280 remains sought after with the smaller 2.8 litre engine offering plenty of power but with the advantage of less weight and thus improved handling.Offered in splendid red coachwork with near new chequered cloth trim, this stunning example of the R107 includes the desirable rear bench seat. This cherished example shows 14 main dealer stamps in the original service booklet; it has since had a documented history detailed by the current owner in the history file including a comprehensive service in November 2019 preceded by an independent valuation of £30,000 by UK Sportscars and a further inspection to confirm the bulkhead is in excellent condition. Originally supplied by Waterhouse Mercedes-Benz Ltd of Chelmsford to a Mr Wood in March 1983, this well specified and low mileage example is amongst the best we have seen. Offered with an MoT test certificate valid until October 2021, with no advisories, viewing is highly recommended to appreciate this fine Mercedes roadster.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
