1969 Ford Cortina Mk. II Savage Transmission: manualMileage:937533.4 litre Essex V6 Ric Wood engineOwned by our vendor since 1972Well-known to the Savage Register and clubSold from the estate of Alan MonkleyThe Ford Cortina Savage was the incarnation of racing driver Jeff Uren and produced by his own company, Race Proven Limited, who took a Ford Cortina saloon and ‘shoehorned’ the Essex V6 three litre engine into the vehicle. Jeff Uren had raced for and managed the Ford Works team before joining the Willment race team, which fielded Ford Falcons, Galaxies, Cobras, GT40s, and, most famously, the humble Cortina Mk. I. Uren was responsible for the development of the Willment Sprint GT Mk. I Cortina. The gearbox was taken from the Ford Corsair 2000E. Weber carburettor, uprated brakes, electric cooling fan, differential, dampers, additional fuel tank and exhaust were all modifications together with the dashboard, alloy wheels and badges made for this unique motor vehicle. The first car to have the Savage treatment (by dropping in a Ford 3.0 litre Essex V6 engine and re-engineering the suspension) was the Mk. II Cortina; this then progressed to Mk. IIIs, Mk. IVs and even a one-off Mk. V Cortina. A review in Autocar, August 1967 of the Mk. II stated it really does hitch its skirts and get moving in the open roads in a manner that will leave practically everything else standing while Motorsport Magazine stated, ‘The outstanding feature of the Savage is how enjoyable, yet effortless, it is to drive.’ First registered in February 1969, this spectacular example of the rare Cortina Savage is presented in silver with black vinyl roof and that inconspicuous bonnet scoop. The trim is black with wood veneer dash and in very good order. This car commonly seen at shows and events with Mr. Monkley and was owned by him from 1972. The engine built by Ric Wood has been bored out to 3.4 litre and was fully rebuilt in 2006, it sits in a stunning engine bay coupled to a stunning fully nut and bold show quality example. The history file accompanying this car is not surprisingly also comprehensive with history back to when Mr. Monkley purchased the car. Also boasting a Simpson exhaust system, this car is well-known to the Savage Register and owners club and possibly one of the best examples money can buy, the bonnet scoop alone is enough to hint at the capability of Savage Cortina’s but behind the wheel they are something else. Viewing of this Savage is strongly advised as with all three of the examples from Mr. Monkley estate offered with Historics.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1999 BMW 840Ci Sport Individual to Alpina Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:117261When the Klaus Kapitza designed 8 Series was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, it felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling. The 8 Series was offered in 840 and 850 form and, when introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Producing a very healthy 282bhp, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds; importantly with the naturally aspirated V8, acceleration was effortless and refined. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4 litre M62B44 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged.Offered here is a superb looking 840ci Sport that has been fitted with various Alpina upgrades and is presented in very rare Violet Blue coachwork. Fitted with a Parrot phone system and a sports exhaust, the vendor reports that this BMW runs and drives very well indeed and sounds fantastic when on song. The coachwork and interior both present well showing little sign of age and the wheels are well with no major scuffs or blemishes. Accompanying this BMW is a history file which includes various old MoT test certificates, the original BMW service book with continuous stamps, sundry invoices and the current UK V5C registration document.BMW 8 Series are certainly becoming a more appreciated modern classic and this example with its desirable BMW ‘Individual’ interior will be quite sought after. What better way to enjoy driving than in this elegant looking pillarless coupé.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 223

1992 Lancia Hyena Zagato Transmission: manualMileage:23000The Hyena was built on the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 1 and was designed to be a limited-run production coupe paying tribute to the Delta and its phenomenal competition success. In the early 1990’s, Holland based Lusso Service, inspired by the peak of Zagato’s collaboration with Lancia in the 1960’s, decided to create something that would rekindle that collaboration. The brief was to design a two-door coupé incorporating Zagato’s ‘double-bubble’ roof and was completed by Marco Pedracini of the Zagato Style Centre and unveiled at the 1992 Brussels motor show.Initially there were plans to build around 500 examples, but this was quickly adjusted to 75, with only 25 Hyena’s completed due to unexpectedly high production costs. The manufacturing was incredibly expensive, 25 Delta’s were purchased and shipped to Holland where the body and interiors were removed. Next, the cars were sent to Zagato in Milan, Italy to be fitted with new aluminium coupé bodies before returning to Holland where Lusso Service completed the assembly. This manufacturing process led to a price of over $75,000!The Hyena weighed 1,150kgs, 15% lighter than the production Delta Integrale, whilst retaining it’s 1,995 cc engine, five-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive system, resulting in a rapid 0-60 mph time of 5.4 seconds! This Hyena was manufactured in 1992 but due to the high price tag and lack of demand when new, remained stored until 2001 unregistered. When collector interest began to grow it was imported by Walkers to the UK with the odometer showing just 102 kilometres. Still awaiting its first owner the car was offered to our vendor who was taken by the Zagato styling and limited production thus purchased this example and has owned ever since as the first private owner. In our vendors tenure the car has been dry stored and used sparingly with only 34,000 now shown - circa 23,000 miles from new. In Hyena circles this example is indeed a well-known car, featured in Auto Italia magazine as the cover car in Viva Lancia, this car attended the Lancia centenary celebrations in Turin and was entered into the concourse event eventually being awarded one of the best in show with 10 invited onto the podium. Presented in red coachwork with black trim this completely original example has been cared for by leading specialists Auto Integrale in Berkshire, and thus is offered with a detailed service history. An incredibly rare, capable and very collectable motorcar which coupled two of the most iconic names in 90’s motoring, Integrale and Zagato, twinning style with performance in a package that is rarely seen on the road now that these rare cars are being snapped up by collectors worldwide due to their appreciating values.      Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 116

1927 AC 6 Aceca Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:77500Although AC’s reputation was established by John Weller’s famous overhead-camshaft six fitted to this example, its early offerings relied on proprietary four-cylinder engines. The AC chassis featured quarter-elliptic springing front and rear, a three-speed gearbox in unit with the rear axle and worm final drive. Front wheel brakes were optional at first, standard issue from 1927. Rated at 12hp for taxation purposes the four-cylinder AC remained in production until 1926, the firm relying exclusively on the Weller 15.7hp six thereafter. This lovely highly original example has been in the same family ownership for over 60 years and is presented in beige/black with brown leather interior, which is pleasantly patinated. In running condition, this wonderful coupé can boast the fact that all its controls and gauges are functioning including the clock, which is rare with cars of this age. Its six cylinder engine is mated to a three speed gearbox integral with the rear axle. The brake system is rod operated with fitted front brakes as an option. It has rear chassis and wing steps which provide the access to the ‘dicky’ seat to the rear, it has wind down side windows, ‘pull over’ hood with easy peg fixings on windscreen top rail (the hood could do with some attention). The car has been re-wired with armour cable incorporating a master battery isolation switch, and its rear mounted fuel tank with gauge, connects to a fuel line filter which in turn connects to a scuttle mounted Autovac. It also comes with an original ‘hints for owners’ handbook in well used condition although the present owner has compiled some technical manuals for ‘power train’, ‘body and chassis’ and ‘general’ which are so useful. A fun classic in original condition.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 136

1965 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:68562Introduced in 1962, Alfa Romeo's 106 Series 2600 range was a direct replacement for the preceding 102 Series 2000 cars. The latter's chassis design and body styles were retained, with minor revisions and improvements, but in place of the old, long-stroke, 2.0 litre, four-cylinder engine was a new, 2584cc, twin-cam six clearly descended from the immensely successful Giulietta. A maximum output of 145bhp was claimed for this unit when installed in the Sprint Coupé and Spider, good enough for a top speed of around 200kmh, and Cars Illustrated magazine reckoned this magnificent power unit ‘one of the smoothest, quietest running sixes, irrespective of the speed at which it is running’. Carrozzerias Touring and Bertone were responsible for the 2600 Spider and Sprint Coupé respectively; both of which looked like their 2000 predecessors. First registered on 18th October 1965, this late model 2600 Sprint presents very well in metallic blue. Having benefitted from a photo documented, ground up restoration some years ago, in 2018, the car enjoyed significant expenditure on its mechanics, including a full engine rebuild, an upgrade to triple Weber carburettors, along with a new clutch and radiator. Whilst at Tipton Garage in Devon - who carried out most of the service work in recent years including the engine rebuild - a new set of Michelin X tyres were also fitted to the car. Out of the 6,999 2600 Sprints Alfa Romeo produced, only 596 of them were supplied in right hand drive making this car a rare example. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and his love for it can be seen in the history file where, apart from the many receipts for work carried out, photos, brochures etc, the vendor also kept a diary of his usage with notes about the car which he is only selling now due to his age and becoming unable to use it as much.Supplied with its V5C registration document, original brochure, usage diary, impressive history file and photos of the car during its ground up restoration and at shows. Handsome and elegant, these cars were Alfa Romeo’s flagship models in the early 1960’s and still ooze sophistication today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 164

1995 Ferrari F355 Spider Transmission: manualMileage:41897Manufactured from May 1994 to 1999, the Ferrari F355 was an evolution of the Ferrari 348. It is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive, V8 powered two seat coupé. At launch, two models were available; the coupé Berlinetta and the Targa topped GTS. The Spider (convertible) version was introduced in 1995. One major difference between the longitudinal V8 in the 348 and that in the 355, apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litres, is that the F355 features a five valve per cylinder head that is considerably more powerful, producing 375bhp. The nomenclature does not follow the formula from the previous decades, i.e. engine capacity plus cylinder number for example, the Ferrari 308 name comes from three litres plus eight cylinders, with the same for the 328, 348, 512 etc. This time, Ferrari used engine capacity plus number of valves per cylinder; proud to boast about this technological advancement, with the name 355 coming from 3.5 litres engine capacity and five valves per cylinder. The F355 has become the most popular model so far with over 11,273 cars produced. This lovely low mileage example presents very well and is finished in the rare coachwork of Swaters Blue complemented by its tan leather interior. The discerning will no doubt note that this has the desirable manual gearbox powered by the 3496cc V8 engine fitted with the Bosch Motronic fuel injection. Reassuringly at 40,073 miles, a cambelt service was carried out. This example is in very good order throughout having been imported from Newport, California at the beginning of 2018 by the current vendor. UK lights have been fitted to conform with UK regulations and the history file includes an original toolkit, service book with many Ferrari main dealer service stamps, and UK V5C registration document. This is a lovely looking Ferrari that will no doubt give a lucky new owner great pleasure and pride of ownership.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 165

1969 Marcos 1600GT Transmission: manualMileage:89131In 1966 the Marcos GT changed from using the expensive Volvo 1800cc unit to more affordable Ford 1500cc and 1600cc ones. The glass fibre bodied Marcos 1800 GT had been a sensation when first shown at the 1964 Racing Car Show. This was to be the design that would become familiar to sports car enthusiasts for more than 30 years, even though the original plywood chassis would later be replaced by a steel chassis and the futuristic scalloped dashboard also vanished after a few years. The plywood chassis was glued together from 386 separate pieces and was not only light and strong, but also required a minimum up front investment to construct. The extremely low Marcos required a nearly supine driving position and fixed seats, mounted lower than the floor of the car. In return, the entire pedal set could be moved fore and aft with a knob on the dashboard.Without a doubt, simply the best 1600GT we have ever seen. The supplied Marcos heritage records and correspondence in the impressive history file shows this beautiful Marcos was first supplied to Franco Paulo Pizzalon Esq. of Mountsorrel, Leicester on Monday 30th December 1968 having been ordered just a couple of months earlier on 5th November 1968. Ordered new in the same colours it still sports of Porsche Orange with black trim, the car was lovingly restored after the vendor acquired the car in 2013. Painted to a high standard, it looks as if the car has been painted much more recently. The interior was also completely retrimmed by Auto Lounge in Buckinghamshire and the car sits on a set of very rare period magnesium Minilites.First registered on 6th January 1969, the car was clearly loved and used a lot. The file shows a record of various maintenance work carried out throughout its early life. At some point between 1972 and 1975 the Ford crossflow unit was swapped for a Lotus Twin cam engine. Indeed, the original advert and the engine’s specification are included in the history file. It shows that the twin cam was built to a high specification with a ported and polished Mk. 2 head, steel main caps, competition bearings, Tufrided crank and flywheel, Powermax pistons and more. A unique period modification which makes perfect sense to the ethos of the Marcos brand. The car truly does present incredibly well and is reported to run and drive just as well. The car is supplied with its UK V5C registration document showing only 3 former keepers -the first two being Mr. Pizzalon and his son and the third, a friend of theirs. The vendor bought the car in 2013 and started the full restoration from there.  The accompanying history file includes the original sales brochure, period Motor Week article, Ford tuning guide, old MoT test certificates and many receipts. A unique example of what must be the best in class of one of the true giant slayers of British 1960’s automotive ingenuity.

Lot 234

1989 Porsche 928 GT Transmission: manualMileage:141944Critics immediately recognised the advances inherent in the 928 over the 911 and it was universally praised as one of the greatest GT cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic, and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long-distance grand-touring car that could also tackle twisting B roads with ease thanks to super direct steering, fifty-fifty weight distribution and a clever Weissach rear axle that kept the car firmly planted. Many road testers found that their nerve ran out long before the 928’s grip. Porsche continuously developed the 928 throughout its production life, culminating with the launch of the S4 in 1987 which differed slightly from the earlier cars with its smoothed-off front and rear bumpers, larger rear spoiler, more interior equipment, and a five-litre version of the V8 engine developing 316bhp. 1989 saw further development with the launch of the GT model, featuring a more powerful five-litre engine creating 326bhp, but more importantly, the introduction of a five-speed manual gearbox for those who wanted a sportier driving experience. This well-presented example is offered in beautiful Guards Red coachwork and has been maintained to a high standard throughout its life. The vendor reports that the five-litre, 316bhp, engine sounds fantastic when on song while the manual gearbox performs well. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing many old MoT test certificates, sundry invoices, maintenance bills and the current UK V5 registration document. This lovely, rare right hand drive Porsche 928 GT is fitted with the desirable five-speed ‘dog-leg’ manual gearbox and is offered in very good order throughout. It is believed that only 38 right hand drive, manual 928 GTs were supplied to the UK market making this one of the rarest Porsches that any collector or enthusiast could own.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 238

2008 Aston Martin DB9 Transmission: automaticMileage:50998The sleek superform aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual diecast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 bodyshell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo.Originally registered on 9th September 2008, this DB9 is finished in rare Tempest Blue with Phantom Grey and Moonshadow leather interior with Piano Black dashboard. Fitted with cruise control and Bluetooth as an option. A well stamped service book accompanies this Aston Martin with the last service in November of this year with a main dealer. This DB9 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate. This example will give any driver the buzz of Aston Martin pedigree alongside one of the most iconic sounds of any modern car with the glorious V12 engine. Attractively priced and fabulous value for money, this is the opportunity to own a superbly built British sports car without the concern of depreciation and in a car that looks equally as good today as it did in 2008.*Interested parties should note that the private plate for this vehicle will be retained and the DVLA will provide an age-related plate (we believe the original which is RX58 EXO)Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1960 Jensen 541R Transmission: manualMileage:60043At the start of the 1950's, Jensen had a sound commercial vehicle business providing bread and butter income and an exclusive car business making expensive Interceptor touring cars. The bodywork was mostly aluminium but as an experiment, Jensen had started making the large boot lids in a revolutionary material formed from hair-thin glass embedded in a resinous gel; glass fibre. The body was designed by Eric Neale in conjunction with Richard Jensen. First, he created the distinctive 'mouth' shape and the rest of the body flowed back from that point. A lattice of wooden body formers provided a reference over which skilled craftsmen beat a skin of aluminium. The finished car was exhibited at the 1953 Motor Show but there was one trick left up Jensen's sleeve; production cars were to be constructed of glass fibre. The first few production cars are just known as the 541. As production increased, the options available increased and a package incorporating the best extras was applied to the car marketed as the '541 Deluxe'. Rack and pinion steering was the latest innovation and was marketed as the 541R. The body changed at the same time with striking curves or strakes being added. These appeared over the rear wheel arches and on the bonnet leading to an air vent. In 1959, work started on creating a slightly larger 541, which would be better suited to long-distance cruising.Registered new on 20th July 1960, this UK supplied right hand drive example is the desirable and rare ‘R’ derivative. This Jensen has been laid up in a barn for many years and as such is offered as a full restoration project. Under the layers of dust its clear to see that this 541R is largely original, the two-tone red and white coachwork is still rather presentable as is the interior. Rarely do you see projects like this come to the open market and once completed we are sure it will be huge amounts of fun for the new custodian. This Jensen has had just four owners from new and is offered with its UK V5 registration document. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1951 Kaiser-Frazer Deluxe Custom Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:99765The Kaiser-Frazer Corporation was the result of a partnership between automobile executive Joseph W. Frazer and industrialist Henry J. Kaiser. In 1947, the company acquired the automotive assets of Graham-Paige, of which Frazer had become president near the end of World War II. Kaiser-Frazer was the only new US automaker to achieve success after World War II, if only for a few years. Joseph W. Frazer left the company in 1949, replaced as president by Henry's son Edgar F. Kaiser.Registered new in 1951 this Kaiser-Fraser Deluxe Custom Coupé is an extremely rare car; the Kaiser Club believe it is one of just 18 Custom Coupés still in existence and it is finished in its original colour of Cape Verde Green with a contrasting cream and green custom made interior. Powered by a 3.8 litre V6 engine mated to a three-speed automatic gearbox the vendor reports that the Kaiser runs and drives very well. The interior presents beautifully and the coachwork retains a deep shine and is complemented by the Coker style white wall wheels and tyres that offer two options of finish, wire or spinner. This Kaiser is a very interesting motorcar that is in very good order throughout and comes complete with a valid MoT test certificate, and the original sales literature and its UK Registration document. This very unique and rare car is a head turner wherever it goes, and we believe it is offered at a very attractive estimate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1970 Ford Cortina Mk. II Savage Estate Transmission: manualMileage:42068From the estate of Alan MonkleyBelieved to be owned by Jeff UrenOriginally built to rallycross racing standardThe Cortina Savage was first produced by Race Proved Performance and Racing Equipment Limited in the mid-1960s and came in the form of the MK. II Ford Cortina. It was designed and produced by the 1959 British Saloon Car Champion, Jeff Uren. The most obvious feature of the later Cortina Savage is the optional fiberglass bonnet but this usually not seen until the mk.III. Many other options were also available, such as Mati headers and power pipes, Dunlop wheels, adjustable shocks, and various brake upgrades.Jeff Uren had raced for and managed the Ford Works team before joining the Willment race team, which fielded Ford Falcons, Galaxies, Cobras, GT40s, and, most famously, the humble Cortina Mk. I. Uren was responsible for the development of the Willment Sprint GT Mk. I Cortina. When John Willment gave up racing, Uren set up Race Proved Performance and Racing Equipment Limited as his own company in 1967. II stated ‘it really does hitch its skirts and get moving in the open roads in a manner that will leave practically everything else standing’ while Motorsport Magazine stated ‘the outstanding feature of the Savage is how enjoyable, yet effortless, it is to drive.’ Race Proved linked up with Weslake Engineering who did most of the engine tuning for Jeff Uren. The customers had various tuning choices; the standard Ford Capri-spec 3.0 litre engine with 138bhp and 182 ft-lbs of torque, the 170, 180, 190 and the mighty 218bhp Tecalemit fuel-injected version, which in a 1972 Motorsport Magazine article was timed as fast to 0-60 mph as a Jaguar E-Type V12.First registered in February 1970, this rare example of the Cortina Savage Estate is presented in metallic green with a contrasting black interior with red piping trim and wood veneer dash. We are led to believe that this example was owned by Jeff Uren himself for 21 years and it is thought to be the last one he built, based on a 1600 GT estate but ordered new as a three litre Savage. Found within the history file is history dating back to the order and includes original sales literature from Race Proved Performance Ltd. Alongside countless invoices and receipts there is one from the Savage Register confirming that OBM 307H was of particular interest as was originally prepared for rallycross racing and as a consequence was built to a very high mechanical standard with a racing bottom end, triple carbs, big valve head pushing out a claimed 230bhp and a limited slip differential. Since then, the car has been fully nut and bolt restored and is in show condition. The ownership can be traced with letters, V5 registration documents and magazine entries for the car and as such it is a very well-known and desirable example. In this exquisite condition we strongly advise viewing to both appreciate the quality but also to confirm specification.Interested parties should note that this example has very recently been restored and thus some minor fettling and running in will be expectedInterested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1990 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC Transmission: automaticMileage:150002The W126 was the flagship series for Mercedes-Benz. Debuted in September 1979 as the successor to the earlier W116 range, the W126 was the second generation to officially bear the S-Class name referring to Sonderklasse or 'special class'. The W126 was initially offered with straight-six, V8, and turbo diesel engine saloon cars but in September 1981, a two-door coupé version of the W126 was introduced. Compared to its predecessor, the W126 was more aerodynamic, fuel efficient, capacious and powerful. The W126 S-Class sported a new Mercedes-Benz design style which was subsequently used on other vehicles in the company's line-up. The W126 line also introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, including the first airbag supplemental restraint systems, seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control system.Registered new on 1st August 1990 this 500 SEC is presented in black coachwork and looks superb. The paintwork is good and retains a deep shine and the interior presents very well. Very few examples are offered in black making this a very rare sight indeed. Supplied with old MoT test certificates and the UK V5 registration document the Mercedes is offered without reserve and is a superb opportunity to acquire a nicely presented example.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 181

1999 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Transmission: manualMileage:90000Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129 Series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension (double-wishbone front/five-link rear) was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin consisted of a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows/mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. This lovely example is presented in metallic Azurite Blue with blue Nappa leather interior. It comes with electric adjustable memory front seats, Becker radio, electric hood (blue) and factory hardtop. This car also comes with a good service history which has mainly been carried out by Mercedes-Benz main dealerships, with only a couple of specialists stamps in the service book, which is rare and reassuring. These models are highly desirable and with only 90,000 miles showing on the odometer and presented in good condition throughout, this example surely is a great investment.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1997 Mercedes-Benz SL60 AMG Transmission: automaticMileage:78258Launched in 1989, the R129-series continued the SL dynasty from Mercedes-Benz, a 'Sport Lightweight' family which began in 1954 with the legendary 300SL Roadster and 'Gullwing' has survived into its 6th generation with the current R231-series. Traditionally the most sporting model of the MB line-up, the SL was the preserve of the rich and famous when new. From the hypnotic dance of the electric hood mechanism to the rollbar that automatically flips up if the car senses an accident. The SL oozed sophistication with all the latest technology such as adaptive suspension with active damping, airbags, traction control, air conditioning and a superb new five-link rear suspension all as standard. The Mercedes-Benz SL60 was the short-number production AMG variant SL deemed, at the time, to be the flagship of the range. Its enormously powerful and ultra-smooth six-litre V8 engine delivered ferocious performance which could be enjoyed from the luxury cabin which Mercedes-Benz is renowned for. This example is particularly special being one of just 49 right hand drive cars produced. With just 78,258 miles recorded from new, the condition is very good indeed. Offered in Silver with blue leather trim and genuine AMG exhaust tips this facelift model boasts a new soft top and has refurbished wheels, thus is described by the vendor as an exceptionally clean example. Much expenditure has been carried out with one of the country’s leading specialists, the SL Shop, which is documented in the history file. Costing more than £105,000 when new and delivering close to 410bhp with an (unlimited) top speed of more than 185mph and 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, this is a remarkable piece of engineering excellence. To blend such incredible performance with predictable handling and a sumptuous, electronics-packed, leather-bound cabin is a feat that was only achieved by Mercedes-Benz in the nineties. Now revered as a bonafide 'future classic' we believe this car represents a rare opportunity at today's guide price.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 178

1994 Renault Alpine A610 Turbo Transmission: manualMileage:64794Significant investment in 2012 and 2013Very good historyProduced by Renault-owned French carmaker Alpine during the first half of the smashing 1990s (1991 to 1995), the A610 had all the attributes of a sports car... or at least the ones that were common during the day; for example, the pop-up headlights, the rear-engine and rear wheel drive layout, complete with a cool turbocharged 3.0litre V6 engine. The A610 draws power from the well-known PRV (nicknamed because the series was jointly created by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo) producing 247 horsepower.Originally registered on 7th January 1994, this delightful Renault presents in very good order and has clearly been exceptionally well cared for. In 2012 she had a documented speedometer change, the old one is supplied and was reading 61,332 when it stopped. The current odometer reading is 3,462 making the total mileage this Alpine has covered 64,794. The original service books and handbook together with the black leather pouch are supplied with this A610 Turbo together with a comprehensive and interesting history folder, with invoices dating back to 2001. In August 2012 at the time of the odometer change other work was carried out on the car, notably maintenance to the brakes and the air conditioning system. In August 2013, it was decided to bring this rare Renault back up to standard and the car was sent to Renault Alpine Tuning Services for the bodywork to be attended to in a major way. The engine gearbox and subframe were removed, the various panels were removed and repairs carried out to the footwells, sills, outriggers and rear turrets with panels being refabricated where necessary. At the same time a new water pump was fitted, together with a new starter motor, alternator and clutch. The car was then painted in the original colour and to a very good standard, the total cost of this documented work was £12,460. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 11th May 2022 together with all the previous MoT’s dating back until 3rd July 2000. Finding one of the 760 Alpine A610s produced is laborious, finding one of the 67 right hand drive examples in this condition is even more difficult. With its supercar performance and looks, these impressive Renaults are underrated and offer good investment potential.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1968 Lotus Elan plus 2 Transmission: manualMileage:63790Launched by Lotus in 1962, the two-seater Elan which had been a classic GT style 2+2 model was developed using a stretched chassis and widened track to accommodate two small rear seats. Improvements to the interior and the addition of front fog lights, in 1969, characterised the new Elan +2S but it wasn't until the much-awaited big valve head engines arrived early in 1971 that the Elan +2 really came of age thanks to the new 126bhp output. Known as the Elan Sprint, the same engine was transplanted into the +2S to create the Elan +2S 130. This version was capable of 125mph and 0-60 in just 7.4 seconds. It wasn't just the rapid performance that boosted Lotus's image but the fact that this model was the first that Lotus chose not to supply in kit form. This example has recently been imported from South Africa where it resided in a private collection. Presented in Team Lotus livery, the coachwork is well although there are some minor blemishes as you would expect for a car of this age. The interior is also in presentable order displaying a light patina. Powered by a 20 valve ‘silver top’ 4A-GE Toyota engine producing 160bhp and mated to a five-speed Toyota gearbox, this is a very fast example indeed and fitted with the desirable Toyota running gear it is rare opportunity not to be missed. The car is offered with an MoT test certificate valid until October 2022, UK Taxes paid documents and the NOVA form, ready for UK registration. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 210

1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Transmission: manualMileage:25953The Mercedes-Benz 280 SL was introduced in December 1967 and continued in production till February 1971. An all new designed by Paul Bracq to replace the 190SL and 300SL Roaster. The 280 SL had a powerful 2.8 litre version of Mercedes inline-six and used Bosch fuel injection. To save on weight, the bonnet, doorskins, boot lid, and tonneau cover were all composed of aluminium. The nickname 'Pagoda' was quickly adopted thanks to the slightly concave roof on the optional removable hardtop that resembled a pagoda roof. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful disc brakes and radial tyres gave the W113 superb handling for its time. These roadsters also have one of the most beautiful bodies produced in the 1960s. Thanks to their robust inline-six and their luxurious Mercedes interior, they are wonderful cars to be driven and enjoyed. The styling of the front paid homage to the legendary 300SL with its characteristic upright Bosch ‘fishbowl’ headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel. This good, left hand drive Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda was supplied new to the USA in 1970 and was fitted with the rare four speed manual gearbox, power assisted steering, disc brakes and factory alloy wheels. Imported into the United Kingdom about three years ago from California, USA and put into a private collection, this car has been recently registered and issued with a UK V5C registration document. Finished in silver metallic (180) with the original black interior and black soft top, this Mercedes Pagoda is supplied with the UK registration documents and photocopies of the US title certificate. This is the ideal car to look forward to using next summer either for local trips to the pub or, maybe a long tour of Europe.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1937 Bentley 4¼ litre Saloon by Freestone & Webb Transmission: automaticMileage:89750Bentley motorcars have always been built to be driven. That is as true today as it was in 1919 when W. O. Bentley designed the first vintage Bentley. The early history was written on the racetracks with the spirit of the Bentley Boys. They celebrated five magnificent Le Mans victories in the 1920's and in 2003, enjoyed a return to those glory years with a sixth win. When Rolls-Royce bought Bentley Motors, they shut down production of the 8 and 4½ litre. Then they had to decide what to do with the Bentley name as they couldn't afford to alienate their customer base and not build a new Bentley. The question was what sort of car to build; after several false starts, the Experimental Department developed a prototype car based on an earlier 18hp experimental chassis called the 'Peregrine' and a suitably tweaked 20/25hp engine; this combination proved to be a winner.Originally registered on 2nd March 1937 this Derby Bentley has been owned in the same family since 1986. The Freestone & Webb bodywork is a rare and unusual design often referred to as a ‘Top-hat’ roof line. The rest of the coachwork is in good proportion and this is a handsome 4¼ litre saloon. Having been off the road for the last 10 years, she will require work and recommissioning. Prior to being parked up she was running delightfully and the cylinder head has been converted to run on unleaded fuel. The registration number of DLP 52 is supplied with the Bentley and being a 4¼ litre saloon by Freestone & Webb, a very well respected coachbuilder, this is a car synonymous with British motoring heritage and as a complete example will make a very desirable projectInterested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 147

1966 Bentley T1 Two-Door Fixedhead Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:91700The T-Series was the Bentley badged version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, available as a four or two-door saloon with coachwork by James Young or Mulliner Park Ward. In October 1966, the ‘T’ saloon's pre-tax 'list price' of £5,375 undercut the Rolls-Royce by £50! The Bentley was technically an identical twin of the Rolls-Royce and seemed to have been purchased mostly by owners wishing for a more understated luxury saloon. The former sporting image of Bentley motor cars differing from Rolls-Royces had gone by the time the Silver Shadow/Bentley ‘T’ was introduced and this was no longer a primary reason to purchase a Bentley over the Rolls-Royce sibling. This example was originally registered on 27th October 1966. Bentley T1’s are exceedingly rare with only 1,868 cars manufactured in total worldwide of which just 114 were built as two-door examples. The coachbuilders for this particular car were H.J. Mulliner Park Ward and the car bears a strong resemblance to its cousin, the Rolls-Royce Corniche. Supplied by Jack Barclay Ltd to Mr. Peter Cadbury at an invoice price of £8,742-19s-5d this Bentley T1 is in need of a total restoration. Supplied with a V5C registration document and the last MoT test certificate which expired on 5th June 2007 and a copy of the original factory build sheets, we are advised the engine has been started on this T1 recently. With Bentley rocker covers and dials, together with the traditional rounded grille, this two-door H.J. Mulliner Park Ward is a great car to restore and certainly deserves to be returned to its former glory.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2000 Audi Mk. I TT Quattro Convertible 225PS (221bhp) Transmission: manualMileage:27027The Audi TT takes its name from the historical successes of NSU competing at the British Isle of Man TT. The exterior design was both bold and highly distinctive with many design awards won along the way. Early Mk. I TT's are becoming increasingly difficult to find with low mileage and low ownership and there is a flourishing club support network throughout UK and Europe catering for the surging enthusiasm for this iconic model. This privately entered TT Roadster is fitted with the desirable 'APX' 1.8 litre, turbocharged petrol engine and Quattro all-wheel drive, mated to Audi's six-speed manual DQB gearbox. Supplied new by Scotts Audi, Berkeley Square to Ms. Soyas-Ridley. She is recorded as both the first and the second registered keeper, with just her address changing in 2002. After twenty years of being registered within the first keeper’s family, ownership passed, in 2020, to the current owner by which time it had covered just 23,800 miles. Timing-belt, tensioners and water pump have all been recently replaced, plus a new clutch earlier this year. We're told that the car provides first class motoring with responsive performance and seamless transmission. Beautifully finished in a Desert Green pearl effect with black roof and complimented inside by fabulous and very rare 'Steppe Green' fine Nappa leather and carpets. Bose speakers add to the sense of top-quality appointments in the pristine cabin. Entirely unmodified, the TT retains all tools, books and owner’s wallet (nine x stamped entries in service booklet). A very rewarding future classic investment.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 196

1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 16V Cosworth Transmission: automaticMileage:112500In 1983, Mercedes-Benz introduced the Cosworth 2.3 16V into their range and the new cars were substantially different from the other 190 models. The body kit reduced the drag coefficient and the steering wheel was smaller than that on other 190s, whilst the fuel tank was enlarged to 70 litres. The Getrag five-speed, manual gearbox was unique to the 16 valve and featured a 'dog-leg' first gear. An enlarged 2.5 litre engine replaced the 2.3 in 1988 and offered double-row timing chains to fix the unreliable single chains on the early 2.3s. The power output was up by 17bhp with a slight increase in torque. It is debated whether the 2.5 engine was developed and built by Mercedes-Benz or by Cosworth … interestingly, they were not keen to broadcast the fact that their most sporting saloon car had an engine developed by a British company. The suspension on the 16 valve models is very different from the standard 190 and as well as being lower and stiffer, it has larger anti-roll bars, harder bushes and hydraulic self-levelling suspension on the rear allowing the rear ride-height to remain constant even when the car is fully loaded. This lovely example of this highly sought after model is especially rare being right hand drive and is presented in black metallic with black leather interior. It comes with an electric sunroof, electric windows, electric front seats and cruise control. The present vendor replaced all the door panels and the bonnet as well as replacing the spoiler with a new one and then had the car resprayed in 2018. The car looks superb! The history file contains various invoices from past work including the latest expenditure of £1622 with Steve Redfearn Mercedes-Benz Specialist in Wimbledon. This car has been very well looked after and it is refreshing to see such an example in such wonderful condition throughout.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2013 Piaggio Vespa 946 Transmission: paddleMileage:380The 2013 Vespa 946 is a small scooter that was especially developed to help you move with agility around the city. As far as style is concerned, the Vespa 946 draws inspiration from the first Vespa prototype of 1946, featuring a retro design combined with a few contemporary lines. The scooter’s distinctive element is its body which is technically a single steel and aluminium component which also has a supporting function. Thanks to its modern body and the intensive use of aluminium, the scooter has a very low curb weight which combined with an upgraded 125cc, 3-valve, 4-stroke, air cooled engine offers an impressive fuel consumption rated at 155 mpg. This superb example is presented in ‘as new condition’ showing a mere 380 miles from new on the odometer. It is painted in black with a grey seat enabling a pillion rider and comes with manuals in a presentation box, two sets of keys and is ready to go! Stylish and a rare collectable model, this Vespa has only had one previous owner. Superb!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet (3.0 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:8896The Porsche 911 is a luxury two-door sports coupé with a distinctive design, rear engine and independent rear suspension; an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. It has undergone continuous development although the basic concept has remained little changed. Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition and is among the most successful competition cars ever. In the mid-1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911-derived 935 Turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. In the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth. It is one of two in the top five that had remained continuously in production (the original Beetle remained in production until 2003) and was until 1998, the most successful surviving application of the air cooled, horizontally opposed rear-engine layout. This superb right hand drive 1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet was supplied new to the Sultan of Brunei in Malaysia and is believed to have only covered 8,896 miles from new. It is thought the Sultan gave this Porsche to one of his staff and while in Malaysia the colour was changed to red. Imported to the UK in 2019, the new owner set about returning the car to its original specification, this included removing all the panels and repainting the car back to its original colour of white, refreshing the black leather interior, refurbishing the wheels and fitting new tyres. For the mechanics, it was sent to Caversham Porsche where it was serviced, new oil cooler pipes fitted, new exhaust system and the air conditioning serviced. The service book is stamped with its first service in Malaysia and the recent service here in the UK. This Porsche is supplied with a V5 registration document, the original service book and the invoices for the work carried out in the UK. Recently the rear seats have been retrimmed, new seat belts and a new battery fitted. The engine has been professionally tuned and the 2994cc engine sounds great when on song with performance to match. This rare and well sorted cabriolet is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately, it would be difficult to find one with lower mileage and in such stunning condition.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1929 Ford Tudor Hot Rod Transmission: manualMileage:28191This stunning bespoke Hot Rod was imported from Texas in bare metal by the late Graham Jones and originally completed by Home Grown Hotrods in Southend. Jon of Home Grown Hotrods recalls, Mr Jones a former Minardi, BAR & Tyrrell Formula 1 press officer would often source rare parts and bring them back with him from trips to various tracks.
