"It Is Required That You See Psycho From The Very Beginning!". This special US 40 x 60 poster went into production to warn audiences to watch the movie from the beginning and that entry into the cinema after the start time was forbidden. And if the text doesn't get the message across, then you can't miss the great image of the director himself pointing at his watch. It is considered the definitive Hitchcock picture and introduced audiences to new dimensions of psychotic mayhem and left an indelible mark on the horror (slasher) genre. 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY (1968) - David Frangioni Collection: US One-Sheet,'Centrifuge' Style C, 1968Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. As the artist commissioned by the US space agency NASA to document the space program's achievements, Robert T. (Bob) McCall was the logical choice for Stanley Kubrick to spearhead the cinema poster marketing campaign for 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). McCall's designs for the film have become legendary, with this "Centrifuge" Style C by far the rarest. The Style C was only used in US cinemas, presenting the movie in the Cinerama aspect (much like today's IMAX). Since only a very small number of venues offered Cinerama, these posters were distributed in extremely limited quantities. McCall's use of scale and perspective is particularly noteworthy with this style. A rare poster for a significant film. Provenance: David Frangioni is a published author, music businessman, producer, technologist, engineer, philanthropist, and drummer. He has worked with Aerosmith, Shakira, Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne, Robbie Williams, and hundreds more. DELIVERANCE (1972) - David Frangioni Collection: US One-Sheet - Advance, 1972Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. "What did happen on the Cahulawassee River?" - John Boorman's brutal and realistic movie Deliverance (1972) tells the story of four suburban middle-aged men totally out of their depth in the backwoods of America. This rare Advance US One-Sheet uses a simplistic design with the eerie artwork of hands rising out of the river wielding a shotgun (seen on the primary marketing for the film) placed within a bold green question mark and the film title in a bright blue situated along the bottom. The colours on this are stunning in person and a great piece for one of the most talked about films of the 70s. Provenance: David Frangioni is a published author, music businessman, producer, technologist, engineer, philanthropist, and drummer. He has worked with Aerosmith, Shakira, Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne, Robbie Williams, and hundreds more. He is CEO of Modern Drummer Magazine and has several books published, including Clint Eastwood: Icon: The Essential Film Art Collection and Crash: The World's Greatest Drum Kits, both by Insight Editions. Frangioni is considered one of the world's most prominent and knowledgeable collectors of Clint Eastwood memorabilia and boasts an enviable archive of movie posters and memorabilia.27" x 40.75" (69 x 104 cm)Condition: Fine+Rolled with small nicks and tears around the border and a tiny area of paper loss on the bottom left border.Artist: Unknown Artist£800 - 1600VAT Status: ΩClick here for our Poster Auction Grading Guide

11 postcards of Russian Imperial Romanov family and others written by Princess Katherine/Catherine (Ekaterina) Obolensky, c. 1908-16, some postmarked Tula, where the princely Obolensky family had a huge estate. The images include Alexandra, the last Tsarina of Russia; Grand Duchess Olga and Grand Duchess Tatiana, two of the Tsar and Tsarina's children; Grand Duke Nicholas, Chief of the Tsarist Army; and Princess Nicholas of Greece, née Grand Duchess Elena of RussiaThe Dowager Princess Obolensky sent the postcards to a woman in Bexhill-on-Sea on a regular exchange basis, and mentions family events including holidays. One message includes: 'This time I send you both the fathers of the newly married Swedo-Russian couple [referring to the postcard image]. In general I prefer sending two cards at a time because so often they are lost.' The postcards provide a rare window on the life of a princely family of Tsarist Russia. WITH: six Imperial Russian and other postcards with messages from 'A. Gagarine', perhaps Marina A. Gagarin of the aristocratic family, who would have known Princess Obolensky. Prince Nikolai Sergeevich Gagarin, like the Obolenskys, owned an estate in the Tula region. The images include Princess Maria of Russia, Grand Duchess Olga of Russia (both were daughters of the Tsar and Tsarina, and they were all to be murdered by the Bolsheviks); Grand Duchess Victoria Melita of Russia; and Elizabeth, Dowager Queen of Romania. These postcards too were sent on an exchange basis to the same woman in Bexhill-on-Sea with whom Princess Obolensky exchanged cards, and it is probably significant that the Gagarins were related by marriage to the Obolensky family. The First World War messages mention addresses in Moscow and St Petersburg, and include 'Very many thanks for cards ...[I] can well imagine your feelings on witnessing the baby killers over London. Hateful beasts.' [a reference to German Zeppelins or bomber planes]; 'The season here is in full swing and I cannot go to Nice'; 'The Huns are vile & abominable, like mad animals & ought to be treated as such.'
