'Young Love' a rare, possibly unique stoneware miniature double bird group modelled as two chicks in shades of green and blue incised to J.C.A with E B Martin's Comps Xmas 1914, minor restoration to one wing 6.5cm. high. It is possible the JCA refers to the photographer J. Cooper Ashton, used by the Martin Brothers for publicity photographs during this period. We believe this is the only miniature double bird group in existance.

Signed colour print presented as a Christmas gift, Christmas 1963,. the colour reproduction print from a lithograph of 'Mill's Clossal Equestrian Statue of General Jackson' with the White House behind, 4.5" x 6" (11.5 x 15 cm), window mounted with signed presentation inscription on mount beneath, 'For Miss Shaw with our deepest appreciation and affection, Jacqueline Kennedy, Christmas 1963' and also signed in blue ballpoint pen by John Kennedy beneath Jacqueline's signature, framed and glazed A very rare 'posthumous' President Kennedy autograph item. It is now known that President John F. Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline co signed fifteen Christmas and fifteen New Year cards before President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas on 22nd November 1963. In answer to an Objection against revealed Religion, Edinburgh, Printed by T. and W. Ruddimans, and sold by Alexander Kincaid, 1738 , 124 leaves, variously paginated, text dust soiled, 19th century half calf, marbled board sides, rubbed, 8vo rees 3487. A rare composite volume of separately printed and paginated tracts with a general title page, existing in many variant forms. This copy contains 14 parts and runs to 124 leaves. The maximum number of parts appears to be 17, as listed as item 7355 in the Bradshaw Catalogue. (1)
Earnshaw (Thomas). Longitude. An Appeal to the Public: Stating Mr Thomas Earnshaw's Claim to the Original Invention of the Improvements in his Timekeepers, Their Superior Going in Numerous Voyages, and also as tried by the Astronomer Royal by Orders of the Commissioners of Longitude, and his consequent right to National Reward, 1st ed., printed for the author, 1808,. half title, seventeen unnumbered leaves of appendices at rear with errata to final page, small ink manuscript corrections to pp. 27 and Appendix E, some pencil underscoring, spotting and occn. heavy browning, a few leaves with marginal dampstaining, small tear to pp. 123/124 without loss of text, several leaves slightly sprung, uncut, contemp. marbled boards with remains of paper spine and manuscript title, spine worn, covers detached, 8vo Collation: pp. [viii], 280, [34]. Thomas Earnshaw (1749 1829) was a pioneer horologist and one of several developers of the marine chronometer. In 1782 he invented the so called spring detent chronometer scapement which became the standard for marine chronometers throughout the nineteenth century and has essentially remained unchanged until the advent of quartz digital timepieces. This rare autobiographical book was published by a disillusioned Earnshaw in an attempt to gain the recognition he deserved. (1)

Not in Cagle. No copy traced in the U.K. Robert Huish (1777 1850) is best known for his Treatise on Bees (1815), The Improved British Angler (1838), as well as editions of the Voyages of Ross, Beechey, etc. Cagle lists one work by this author, entitled The Alphabetical Receipt Book and Domestic Advisor, of 1826. A rare George III miniature pine hooded wall clock case late 18th century with ogee moulded dentil cornice above break-arch door with aperture for 4.5in dial and integral pilasters with cavetto moulded throat and pierced side brackets beneath 39cm high overall. Marks on the internal surface of the backboard suggest that this case was made for a miniature lantern clock with hook and spike hanging. From the collection of the late Mr J Morley
A rare Marklin Gauge 1 live steam 4-4-2 Locomotive and Tender No 4021 the spirit fired brass boiler with fitted sight glass and drain cock chassis with outside cylinders and fluted motion. The locomotive finished in chocolate brown lined livery with fitted hand rails. The tender being of similar livery N B R to sides 59cm long overall

A 17th century carved chestnut doll, 26cm high. Literature: see Victor Chinnery, Oak Furniture: The British Tradition, page 397 for a similar doll, in the Museum of London. Although these dolls are rare survivors Chinnery speculates that in the 17th century ‘most girls must have had a doll or two’.

Richard Cobden: a rare brown stoneware spirit flask of large size depicted holding a scroll inscribed 'League Subscription L 250,000 R. Cobden MP', circa 1842, 322 high * In 1841 Cobden became MP for Stockport. The reference to £250,000 is the amount of money raised by the membership of the Anti Corn Law League.
