All shirts and Numbers were issued in alphabetical order - see following official signed team sheet No. 8 R Jeeps Note: "Dickie" Jeeps is one of that select group of players capped for the British Lions before being capped by his country. Jeeps who was actually the 3rd choice scrum-half played in all 4 test matches which the Lions drew 2-2. The Lions played 28 winning 19, losing 6 and drew 3. Jeeps went on and captained both the England and the British Lions in the 1950s and 1960's which included playing in all 4 matches Of the Grand Slam in 1957. In 1976/77 Jeeps was elected President of the Rugby Football Union

Again the final will be well remembered for being played in the presence of President Nelson Mandela wearing his South Africa shirt on the occasion of South Africa winning hard fought final against the mighty New Zealand All Blacks - comes c/w coa of authenticity from a well-known and highly respected South Africa rugby collector Note The World Cup was the 1st major sporting event to take place in South Africa following the end of apartheid. It was also the 1st World Cup in which South Africa was allowed to compete having only just been readmitted in 1992 following the end of apartheid. The World Cup was also the last major event of rugby union's amateur era.

A rare Burmantofts Faience lustre vase by Leonard King, model no.157, shouldered form, painted with a frieze of large owls, spaced with scrolling foliage and smaller perched owls, light red on a cream ground, impressed marks, painted LK and LGB monograms, 37cm. high Catalogue notes The owl is one of the symbols on the Leeds city coat of arms and thus had a significant iconographical link to the Burmantofts company.

A rare gessoed wood wall mirror probably designed by Edgar Wood, rectangular form with stepped mantel, modelled in low relief with chevron panels, with golden patination, unsigned, 49 x 30cm. Catalogue Notes Edgar Wood (1860-1935) designed this mirror circa 1914-1916 - its chevron designs relate to the shop fronts of Middleton shops designed in 1908. RIBA hold the original watercolour designs for five related mirror's of varying sizes which were exhibited at Partnership in Style Edgar Wood & J Henry Sellers, Manchester City Art Gallery 16th October-16th November 1975.
