BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN - US STERLING SOUND ACETATE. Extremely rare 1978 12" single sided metal acetate of the title track from the album; this is an alternate version (Take 28). The acetate plays at 33 1/3 RPM. Printed label states 'STEREO 33RPM DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN TAKE 28 3-30-78 and dated 4/12/78'. On playback, the vocal parts are slightly different, perhaps most noted at 3:08 where the word 'ready' is insert in the line 'I'll be there on time, ready to pay the cost'. The acetate was cut on April 12, 1978 almost two months before the LPs release date. Presented in very fine Ex condition with just a couple of very light and faint surface markings with no lifting/peeling or damage to the aluminum lacquer on the playing surface. Extraordinary.

Scorchingly rare original 1992 Dutch pressing of the mega Entre Dos Tierras from the Spanish rockers (EMI 12 2551 7). The record is in superb Ex+ or archive condition showing few discernible markings. The original picture sleeve is in very clean Ex condition with a little ringwear on the reverse.

The letter states that it bears the incised mark of Zhang Cheng, the famous Yuan dynasty maker. Provenance: From the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel Schloss, acquired 1950's-1990's. Ezekiel Schloss is one of the most famous names in ancient Chinese ming-chi (terracotta figure) art. Together with his wife Lillian, he was a prolific collector, well respected authority and author of the major publication "Ancient Chinese ceramic sculpture from Han through T'ang". Schloss arrived in the US from Latvia in 1940. He was an accomplished cartoonist, working for many years at the New York times. The Schloss collection is rare in that it truly represents an educated collection of art; Schloss was immersed in Chinese ming-chi art and only collected beautiful examples of specific types, as well as the unusual, the charming and the rare.
