Broken Silence by Robert Taylor, rare 33 x 24 inches WW2 print The sudden thunder of Merlin engines shatters the evening silence as two pairs of de Havilland Mosquitos head out over the Norfolk Broads on a low-level precision strike against enemy targets in Holland. Originally released in 1988 this immortal print is personally signed by some of the most iconic Mosquito pilots of World War II, all of whom have sadly since passed away. Having sold out very quickly on its release this is scarce. Signed by the artist and WW2 aces wonderful ltd ed print depicting the maiden flight of the nightfighter Mosquito from De Havilland's Salisbury Hall HQ, on its way to the aerodrome at Hatfield. Most notable is Gp Capt John Cunningham, legendary night fighter ace, and test pilot, who was at the controls of the De Havilland Comet on its maiden flight in 1949. Ralph Hare: a stress engineer who worked on the Mosquito project. Alan Copas: one of the maintenance team who prepared this aircraft for its maiden flight. The Abbeville Boys by Robert Taylor, rare 36 x 25 inches WW2 print signed by Taylor and WW2 Luftwaffe ace Gen Adolf Galland They fought in the Battle of France, and throughout the Battle of Britain. At the time they were the Luftwaffe's best known Fighter Wing, and for the next two years they duelled daily over northern France with the very best of the RAF who nicknamed them the 'Abbeville Boys'. One of Robert Taylor's most iconic paintings, 'Abbeville Boys' features the outstanding Kommodore Adolf Galland leading the battle-hardened pilots of JG-26 as they power away from their base in the Pas de Calais for yet another tussle with the cream of RAF Fighter Command. Against all Odds WW2 21 x 20 rare Artist proof numbered 16/25 print by Ron Holmes numbered 16/25 signed by 4 veteran of 101 sqn Rusty Waughman, Ron Holmes DFC, Sergeant Stan Waind DFM. Both Holmes and Waind were on the Lancaster SRN2 depicted in the print which was attacked by ME210 on 12/8/1945, the plane was badly damaged, yet Holmes managed to nurse the plane back from Russelsheim to Woodbridge and an emergency landing with no flaps, no brakes and very little fuel. A rare autographed presentation copy of the ' History Of Eton College - 1440 to 1898 ' by Sir H.C Maxwell Lyte ' Pub. 1899 by Macmillan, London. The copy comes signed on the second fly-leaf and is dedicated by the then-17 year old future King ' For Canon Dalton '. Dalton was a Church of England clergyman and author, and was also a chaplain to Queen Victoria, a Canon of Windsor, and tutor to King George V (Edward's Father) and his brother Prince Albert Victor. Affectionately dedicated ' With best wishes from Edward, Xmas 1911 '. Largely fine, the book comes with some minor foxing, and bound in original period leather boards with gilt decoration and titles to the spine. With marbled endpapers. A rare and interesting dedicated copy, from a member of the Royal Family.
