NO RESERVE Bianchini Lodovico. Palermo, Francesco Lao, 1845. In-8° (mm 252x162). Einaudi, 482; KressIt, 1129.8° (252x162 mm). XVI, 508 pages. A very fine copy, light foxing. Contemporary green half-morocco, gilt tools and title on the spine, sprinkled blue edges.First and rare edition of this historical part of the great work of the economist Lodovico Bianchini, which will be completed, independently, by the homonym edition of the 1855. The writing lists and examines the authors of Political Economy from ancient times to his days and the author proposes the 'genovesiano' approach to the political theory, aims to combine the happy life and public happiness; as Genovesi like Serra, Galiani and Verri, is praised in a controversy optic with English and French liberalism schools. Unfortunately for the author the economy had grown, but not in the direction desired by him: the political economy of those who made profession of liberalism and praised the market automatism - as the criticated Smith, Ricardo and Say - little or nothing had in common with the civil economy of those who had cultivated - as Genovesi - a normative science in the name of an enlightened dirigisme. Einaudi, 482; Kress Italian, 1129.

Work by early 20th Century English Poet who encouraged Dylan ThomasNeuburg (Victor B.) Bound galley proofs of Wild Honey, a book of poems by Victor B. Neuburg, to be published by The Young Cambridge Press, Bedford, in 1907. Ff 1 - 56. Contains the printed text of some 23 poems, with many corrections added in m/ss and some extra verses and introductions, also in m/ss. Most of the poems are revised versions of work that had already been published by the freethinking publisher William Stewart Ross, who had recently died. There seems to be no record that this book was ever published.Victor Benjamin Neuburg (1883 -1940) was a poet of London Jewish origin who also wrote on the subjects of theosophy and occultism. By the time he wrote these verses he had already fallen under the influence of Aleister Crowley, but their relationship was ended some years later by Crowley's anti-Semitic bullying. In his later years he did much to encourage the work of younger poets, and Dylan Thomas wrote of him: "Vicky encouraged me as no one else had done.. He possessed many kinds of genius, and not the least was his genius for drawing himself, by his wisdom, graveness, a great humour and innocence, a feeling of trust and love that won't ever be forgotten." As a m/ss, w.a.f. Rare. (1)
